- Decided to head out for a 3 mile hike to get to a great wee camp spot and try out my new Helm 1 Compact................well happy with it. The midgies are back and are a nightmare !! Bring back winter, ha.

Midgies were brutal, there were none two weeks earlier. Got the wee cases from Amazon.

Nice video dude, did the NC500 couple of weeks ago and were lucky with no midges.
Have you tried the smokin midge or the flextail repel ?
Alrighty. Thanks for watching. I bought that smoking midge thing last year but never used it, it’s in the garage! Definitely taking it next time. Also have some citronella incense sticks so they’ll be getting packed with a bottle of smidge. 😂 I looked at the Flextail thing, but seen mixed comments but I ordered a Thermacell thing that goes on top of gas canister as they seem to get better feedback on battling the midge ! Will be good to test them all.
Was camping further up the loch 2 weeks ago and there were no midges! 😂

The flextail thing looks good and as you say seen mixed reviews, the smokin midge (imo) just looks like a tin with incense sticks in them
@@Cakeious aye, did a trial burn, don’t think the wee cones last that long. Ok if resting on table, wouldn’t fancy wearing on arm - but I guess it’s meant for fishing and being out on the water. Think the guy has made different cones, would need to check. Looks like longer burning ones now, have ordered some of them, will check the burn time with standard. 👍
