Thank you for filming this, I've always felt a bit guilty for the art supplies that are gathering dust in the corner of my room. I guess it's just part of the art journey: finding the materials that work for you. But oh men, I'm sad for all the money I've spend on things that I don't use anymore 😂
Ahah I totally understand how some art supplies just don’t mesh with our artistic practice 👏 this was fun to watch, bc I love working with acryla gouache & watercolors- but I absolutely for the life of me can’t work with himi gouache LOL I def do not like that one ! But I know my friend wanted to try them so we traded supplies & she loves it and knows how to work with it! :D
Use your watercolor with white gouache for a more gouache pastel look? I do think colored pencils make for better lineart than fineliner pens because the pens are just so basic lol... I have to say I love alcohol markers, but you do need certain paper for them. As for the acrylic markers, try the ones with brush tips! They're so much better and you can blend with them. Neocolor 2s are just solid watercolor sticks, so yeah... if you dislike watercolor you won't like neocolor 2s lol. It's fun to see what other artists think of certain supplies!
For me, one thing that I've always struggled with are microm pens -- they're really good while they still have ink, but they dry out too fast and I always wind up destroying the tips since I inadvertently press too hard when drawing lol
It's totally normal for people to have art supplies that just don't work for them. My least used art supply is probably watercolour paints - I prefer opaque paints. Acrylics and coloured pencils used to be on this list, but as my style changes and my skill develops I've started using both of these more.
watercolour is my absolute favourite medium... if i got my hairdryer next to me, that is. You'll find me blow drying everything Acrylic paint on the other hand? absolutely not.. i don't understand em :D
If you want a sketchbook recommendation that would work well with alcohol markers that might help you like them more (or any medium for that matter) that is perfectly smooth paper, the Rendr Cresent No Sho Thru is my favourite. It’s the sketchbook I use and nothing bleeds through! I’ve used promarkers and POSCAs and gouache in there and it’s a dream for me. The ONLY thing that lets it down is that it isn’t a true flat lay but we can’t have it all 🥲
Have you ever tried to laying down your color than shading with colored pencil or pencil crayon?😊with acrylic markers or acrylic paint pens I mean. I guess a lot of alcohol markers artistswhich I love but hate the bleed use colored pencil over and also glue every other spread together I tried this and because I take forever to go through a sketch book it works I just wait til I’m done and use cardboard or a plastic mat in between as well because they sometimes bleed through what seems the whole sketchbook lol.

I kinda agree with all of them, like, I like to use them from time to time but not regularly. Oh! except for watercolor, that's my fav :D
I just don’t get it. I’m not patient enough to wait for the layers to dry 😂😅

You can put tracing paper(or baking paper)over the neocolors,so they don't end up ruining the other page. Do you sell the supplies you don't use?😅
