What I got from the video is the dad was an alcoholic who didn’t work & the mama worked to raise the son. When the dinner was served the dad didn’t like it so he slapped the mom and the son jumped on his dad to save his mom then I guess the cops had a warrant for the son and when they went to go get him when they said “freeze” he didn’t hear them because he was deaf but the cop didn’t know that so he shot him. Also if u listen to rod wave throughout the song rod was basically naming problems & in the video the boy had a lot of problems then when the boy dies rod said in the song "Make sure you write the realest in the game on my tombstone when they burry me by the river they will carry me"........ 'FINLLY I CAN REST IN PEACE' which means to me when I'm dead all my problems will be gone
