Leaving the wonderful Bodenaya - my favourite Albergue on two Caminos! Not only are the hosts, Allison and Alberto absolutely wonderful, but the food was fantastic! And my fellow pilgrims were really nice, too.
A small group of us are all heading to the same place, a new Donativo at El Espin that opened just three days ago ( Casa Pascual) . Irish, Italian, Chinese, Taiwanese, Czechoslovakian, and Kiwi - talk about a diverse bunch! Great people.
The first part of the day was fairly steady. It‘s basically relatively flat until Tineo. Then it climbs steadily for 5 solid Km!! And descends for the next three. Don‘t miss the detour to the Monasterio de Obona !! Then it just undulates a little for the rest of the day. Lovely rural countryside the whole way!.
    A wonderful day on Camino

That's such an individual choice. A small percentage of people wear boots on Camino, and they all have excellent reasons for doing so. I always used to walk in boots, but now definitely prefer trail runners.
Comfort is King! I hope to do a video on this in about 6-8 weeks.
This is not something I can advise you on. Choose comfort, in what ever form that takes - sandals, shoes, boots - and train according
