As flawed and dated as the show may be I think Battlestar Galactica should be written up in the GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS as the best theme music for a television show. Granted opinions unlike facts cannot be a world record but its what I feel. I wish I could see the real life orchestra doing that song in front of an audience in 1978. I wonder if there is any archived video of that?
At Galacticon in Houston 2013, Bear McCreary introduced Stu Phillips on the phone rather than talk about himself at the opening ceremony. Stu was very happy at the treatment of the material by Bear. Quite the moment.

STU, Williams and Horner the soundtracks of the epic golden age of scifi action. Would love to see a future reboot staying true to the 78 version, look and just updated effects. In recasting stay true to the old. No sex/race or alliance changes of the key roles. Keep the aliens and Boxy story. Keep the comander's family the same. First half of season one should reuse the old scripts then space out the rest over about three with fresh material. Explore the ancient race of the light more. Expand the Pegasus story with a flashback episode before the destruction of the main fleet then stretch out the two parter into four parts. Perhaps add a slave remnant of the alien race that the cylons conqured that aids in the fuel raid but stays behind. Like I said keep the org. scripts but just epand on them. One sin of the remake was the total human only approach, only total arrogance but assume man was the only race around in a galactic scale or that man must have made their enemy. Also Kane should never been an Admiral. The Council of the 12 should be restored as the senior Commanders each with a lead battlestar prior to fleet distruction. About 30 ships seems right at the peace conference destruction and perhaps another 10 to 20 that was with Kane in the last battle before the sueing for peace. Kane's battle of Molocane could be a cylon victory that in killing a colonial taskforce cost them more than 3 to one leaving them fearful of the main fleet with perhaps 9 to 15 Basestars left. Just some ideas.
