    If you filed and cleaned them off, when you went to apply your shellac do you need a base coat?

    • @nailsbycharleds
      @nailsbycharleds  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No you won’t need a base coat if you have Plexigel down, just remember to apply a shellac top coat if your using shellac and not the protector top coat 😊

    This was a very informative video, thank you.. do you know if I can use a regular nail polish over the protector top coat??

      Aww thank you, your very welcome. I’m glad it helped 😊 if you have applied shaper or builder you can use a standard nail polish over that and the standard top coat that goes with it. You would only really use the protector top coat if you decide to leave it clear. I hope that makes sense x

      @@nailsbycharleds thank you very much for your reply, its a new product and I had some questions as an amateur nail lover.. im fascinated when I see products like this, with easy and simple application.. I've just purchased my kit with your help and I hope that this method has no lifting.. many greetings and love from Greece...

      Let me know how you get on with it, you’ll love it. I don’t get any lifting and can get longer than the 3 weeks out of it. Just remember to use a 240 grit buffer to lightly remove surface shine from your nail plate, because it does need a rough surface to adhere to. Glad I could help 😊

    If you do a refill on a client that had their nails lenghtened with builder on the previous appointment, can you just work like usual next appointment (removing with foil and start the normal shellac process) or will the offly fast also take off the builded nail?

    • @nailsbycharleds

      Are you e-file trained?
      If you have used the builder gel previously to lengthen the nail and the want to keep that length at their next appointment, you would either hand e-file the colour back to the Plexigel or hand file if not trained and infill the regrowth with the bonder and either shaper or builder.
      You can of course soak off using offly fast if you wanted to remove the shellac and the builder gel but remember depending on what top coat you have used you need to allow time for that and an additional 15 mins for the builder gel underneath. With doing this you would also remove any length you have added previously.
      So if you do soak off, you will also soak off the enhancement you created at the last appointment. Does that make sense? X

      @@nailsbycharleds yep perfect sense! Im not e-file trained so i would be needing to handfile, am i okay with the cnd kanga or koala file? Im putting in my order tomorrow so want to make sure i got the right things for the builder and the upkeep!

      If your hand filing I would definitely recommend going with 100/150 or even 180 grit so the blizzard file in order to take the shellac down quicker. You’ll be filing for ages with the kanga or koala file because it’s only 240 grit.
      I actually use the Nsi dura files for taking down enhancements, because they last really well and it’s less stress on your wrist and hand. They can be cleaned and sterilised too. I tend to use the one file per client and clean it after and once it’s dried out put it into a paper bag with the clients name on for their next treatment and then replace it once it needs it. Otherwise it can become expensive for you.
      I always add these costs into the cost per service when pricing up my treatments, but I’m sure you do that anyway.

    Can we cure on a different lamp than the cnd lamp? Thank you

    • @nailsbycharleds
      @nailsbycharleds  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You won’t get a full cure if you use a different lamp, if you have uncured gel on your nail it can lead to reactions. It may look cured but it won’t be 😊
