Beautiful interpretation of one of my favourite songs. I find myself often disillusioned by modern folk with its typically overproduced sound and lack of the 'community' spirit and warmth of records of the 60s, but this was very refreshing indeed. There is hope for folk yet!
Even when I was besotted with the Incredible String Band back in the 60s, I though this song was special and deserved to enter the 'traditional' repertoire - as it appears to be doing. These days it's perhaps the only thing they did that I can bear without curling up in embarrassment! It suits the Rheingans very well.
@@TheRheingansSisters Just one line (@4.48 mins) sounded a little off key to me. It's still a geat version tho' & I love the combo of fiddle & banjo! As L. Cohen wrote 'There's a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in'! :) . P.S. If ever you're in central Bristol, let us know. If wld be fab to hear u live at the New Rooms (Wesley Chapel). We're going there this Thurs day to hear this guy! th-cam.com/video/gVYerTWmbas/w-d-xo.html Blessings!
@@petermatthew123 Can you share with us a perfect version? The original one, was it perfect? Have you seen perfection? And are you a professional musician?
What a beautiful fitting tribute to Clive and Robin...
Lovely version ....I was a young man back in the 1960s...this is a wonderful timeless song from equally wonderful and timeless Robin Williamson. 💚👍
Is that THE BF? I bought all my ISB albums at your store in Rose St' way back in the 1960's-70's
@@architect-les248 That's me .....🎶❤👍💚🎵
Thank you. I have always found this song curiously comforting and this rendition is delightful.
Robin would be proud of you.

Just a seriously beautiful version. xx
Beautiful arrangement of one of my favourite songs from my youth in Edinburgh. Triggered happy memories of 4 years in Sheffield in the '80s too.
Wonderful
Love this song. It has resonance of my youth and echoes many an enjoyable rant. It is sometimes played at folk meets I attend.
