I was hating on Shin Ultraman's gray alien sorta proportion, but grew to like it. It even became my favorite Ultraman design. And proportion-wise felt more realistic, as suit Ultras tend to have head size too obviously helmet with how big it is. But from the moment it was announced, to even now after watching the movie, I truly don't like this doritos with sticks for a limb design. I quite enjoy the movie but it truly didn't feel like an Ultraman. It's not a bad script or premise, but it did gave me 98 Goji flashback. 98 Iirc was intentionally written as removed from classic Goji as possible, as they tried to "innovate". Tho I don't see any hints of such arrogance here, it does still felt too far remove that it's hardly recognizable, personally speaking. I heard that it wasn't supposed to be an Ultraman script but was turned into one, and I can see that being the case. I don't hate it, even like it, on its own merit. But as an Ultraman entry tho... yea...
I was really hoping for a comparison with the Super7 Baragon lol Nice little diorama setup at the end. I wonder after the variant for this what kind of Ultraman figure you’ll be looking into…🤔

@@DMan1954 the Shinkocchou Seihou version is the best 66 figuarts Ultraman, it comes with the spacium beam and ultra slash both fit on my Shin figure too.
Can't say this SHF Ultraman Rising figure is the perfect Ultraman figure. There's a tons great SHF Ultraman figures like SHF Shinkocoseiho (All lines), SHF Ultraman Mebius, SHF Ultraman Z, SHF Ultraman X (both early release and new generation star ver), SHF Ultraman Belial and others.
Phenomenal Review D Man1954, Great Intro BTW. I also found this at Wal-Mart as well, It's a first for me because until this guy I had no S.H. MonsterArts or S.H. FigureArts Figures in my Collection & I gotta say, he is Phenomenal, I'm Super Glad I picked him up. I plan on doing a review of him sometime. Also I have a Box Day coming soon, the hint is it's Ultraman related.
The Ultra Action version of this guy is better for kids.Almost same size, very articulated, but joints don't pop out. The SH Figuarts doesnt come out here in Japan until next weekend, then the deluxe version with Emi is coming later this year. My favorite figure though from Ultraman Rising, so far, is the Deluxe electronic version. Even though I already preordered the release with Emi, I picked this one up to, my only issue with it is the elbow joints only bend to around 90°.
