Bro nice job you are doing.you are educating many kenyans... i am bolt driver..and in your interviews you ask frequently "what advice would you give to people who would like to join" for me i tell people, if you want to join, just join but join with a car that is 100% yours no debt, no loan, no partner, no family member. With a budget between 450k to 650k you can get a clean car but not nissan models because of gearbox problems.and for partners who want to invest it's a big no. Because few drives remit what you agreed. And why as a partner invest 550k to get 8k per week which is not 100% that you be given the money by the driver
Boss, if you are given 7k, per week {28k per month / 336k per year}. If i am a partner and get 336k per year from a car i bought for 550k {as per your above comment} that is a 61% return. where on earth do you get such a ROI of 61%??? Tufanye isabu engine:- Lets assume the cost of car is 700k {sababu 550k is too low}. Then the ROI will be 48% {336k/700k}. Lets deduct a 20% car depreciation 140K {700k x 20%). So, the actual return annually will be 196k {336k - 140k} and the ROI will be 28% {196k/700k} which to me is still ok. Anything below a ROI of 25% is not acceptable, You can as well go and invest your cash with CBK and get 15% to 18% return while you are sleeping at home (700k x 18% = 126k}.
Do you think its easy for many people to have 650k cash?i think this is not a good advice, the way to deal with this problem of paying loan is to advise people ways to pay and how to finance either bank is better or SACCO is like that,..... do you have 650k cash as we speak?
@@abukhalid3446something like that....ubaya watu hawataki kusema way forward clearly....ata nikichukua gari na 900k na nipate 350k and it has a driver, that means if i drive it i can get 450k and above which is a plus....
I don't understand the trip Bururburu Rubis Service Station to Yaya Centre, he mentioned in Bolt Economy is Ksh 640 and Uber ChapChap Ksh 700, at 3pm Kenya time today (27/9/24) as shown on the passenger apps - and this guy is saying it is a Ksh450 trip. So does the driver receive that money, then has to pay commission? Or the driver receives less and still pays extra commission? It is confusing to me as I'm used to the UK system, where the driver is only shown their actual earnings (commission is deducted before they see the earnings, so a driver can't really know how much commission they are paying to the platform, without asking the passenger how much they were charged).
What kind of attitude is this? I once had a driver who brought an uber using bolt and showed me his earnings of over 20k on a weekend...Huyu jamaa ni mwongo, and is lazy.
The man is very analytical....from experience the problem is the pricing per distance ......200ksh for a 6.7kms on traffic , and the customer gets a discount of 60 shillings .....it's crazy that ,all the apps care for is making the cars bodaboda for their customers

Guys these apps were ment for first world countries as a part time job not in these magu magu countries like kenya ,where a whole village depends on that car na ni ya loan ....😂😂😂
Actually as someone currently in a first world country, I've not met any taxi drivers with 2nd jobs. They all work full time with the digital or the offline taxi work. The part timers do food delivery. And for Uber/Bolt most of the drivers are financing their cars, as in the London, where I am, you must have new car if you're starting out.
From watching your videos I've learned a lot of drivers seem to be reluctant to disclose their true income, they should really be showing you their apps so we can know the truth. Anyway I shall learn myself when I come and start. I would like you to follow my story I will be in touch by email so we can arrange. I agree with your reasoning that people cannot afford the prices to be higher. If they charged there what they charge here no one would travel. The drivers need to do more trips and it will work out, instead they look at the prices per trip. The only thing is the amount taken by the companies could be reduced. And saying someone should take matatu, is actively discouraging business. Meanwhile those matatus are still running at the same prices since 2017 without complaining.
People don't understand that the target market for uber is regular people that's why they call it rideshare. Initially it was to merge you with people going the same direction as you and share the cost. If you work with that kind of attitude you can never make it! This guy is really worried about the tires

So anyone using them is funding them and acknowledging that their system is working as it should. Whether drivers are slaving or not that's not their business. Theirs is to provide that convenience for a fee for them to get richer. They will maximise their profits by all means, its capitalism. The only language they can listen to is competition. Also the current rates are dictated by the market willingness to fork those prices, the more the customers/trips the more the possibility of them hitting their profit margins.
