      All while Rolling Stones magazine rated Cunt Cobain as one of the top greatest guitar players of all time ...

    • @CJEstradaMartinez
      @CJEstradaMartinez 6 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      WHAT?????? I don't know what is a bigger crime: Underrating the guitar talents of Warren Demartini or having Kurt Cobain ranked higher than him. The late Robbin Crosby would have something to say about that.

    • @mhitson7483
      @mhitson7483 6 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      ao el yeah Cobain was a real innovator. He nicked the riff from more than a feeling by Boston for teen spirit Hack band of naval gazers

    • @guitarofdestiny
      @guitarofdestiny 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      M MH yeah. That's one song that he didn't even play towards the end of his career so I'm sure he would agree with you. So one song discredits his entire catalog? That's just asinine.

    • @mhitson7483
      @mhitson7483 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      ao el I’m not sure whether he played it not towards the end of his career matters. It was a straight up rip off off that riff
      I’m sure at that point he was pretty much sick of playing it. I definitely disagree with your statement that anyone with practice can play like demartini. I will agree by that time that type of rock needed to die when it did. It had become a parody of itself but Cobain was no great guitar player by any stretch. And frankly the entire grunge thing became as derivative or even more so than the so-called hair metal era.
      My opinion

      Your dad must be about my age. I freaked when this album came out. I was sixteen and already had all of their earlier albums. Still think it's their best album and this is the best song off their best album in my opinion. 7th Avenue is another great song in fact I think it may have inspired Steve Vai in his song "The Animal" off of Passion & Warfare (I hear a lot of similarity). You have pretty good taste in music, man. BTW, you ain't gonna believe this but I held that guitar in my hands (the snake skin guitar Warren is playing). I have held that guitar in my hands, I almost cried. I was working for TSA at Bob Hope airport & working in the over sized bags area where we got lots of golf clubs and guitars. I had no idea who's guitar it was but when I opened the case and saw the guitar I almost shit my pants, then I looked at the PAX tag - it said "Warren Di Martini", I freaked; stepped out of the screening area looking for him but never saw him. I very carefully screened his guitar and sent it on it's way. Had to do my job. It was the very same snakeskin guitar you see in this video.

I mean we all deserve a piece of existence that involves unrestrained free will and yet here we are with the times when the government is bigger and the authority of both elite, big business, govt and influential people are destroying the freedoms that would give way to similar experiences like yours. Man,
    RATT - they deserve all the credit in the world for helping define an entire genre nearly on their own.
    So many lead singers tried to have the look, growl, timbre and sex appeal of Pearcy but failed. The twin stuccato guitar metal they cranked out was epic and copied all over the place. An underrated influence to time IMO.
    And good lord could they put on a show...

      He did have killer tone and coupled with his excellent chops it made for a hell of a sound. I truly miss this era in more ways than I can explain, it was an incredible time for music. I remember being so excited for new albums to come out and actually having to go to the record store to get them. Don't get me wrong, I love the convenience of Pandora on my iPhone, but there was something cool about collecting all that music in the physical form. I feel sorry for the kids these days because they missed out on something very cool, it was an awesome time to grow up and I miss it dearly.

      @dwspazz1245 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@michaelbeck4653
      Actually, for me Lynch is very forgettable...I do not even know what his claim to fame is. Breaking the Chains (that is the only thing I know of his, but just by the album/cassette cover. I could never stomach listening to Dokken longer than it took to change the station.
      I know he is a very good guitarist and was chosen by Mrs. Rhoads to take over Randy's teaching position at Musonia, but Dokken was a subpar hair "metal" band in my eyes. I agree he can play a mean guitar, but as far as I know he never had the vehicle to showcase his talent. No offense, but Ratt was multi-platinum pretty boy band that showcased DeMartini and I knew a few "closeted" fans who would acknowledge the band with a slight head movement and even would tap their foot in a public setting.
      I dont think Lynch ever got the chance to show the world what his style and ability consisted of and the world most likely never got to hear Lynch being Lynch. I admit I never listened to his Lynch Mob material, so maybe my opinion isn't based in fact. But he does look cool as hell playing like DeMartini.
