I'm glad you never found out what was potentially stalking you. Definitely made the right choice to leave asap with branches breaking nearby. I wouldn't want to encounter a bear out in the wild, especially at night after some drinks, even if I would be armed.
Lovely video about Enemy Zero! Thanks for covering it! Surprised you didn't get into the story about how Kenji Eno forced the composer to write for him lol
Kenji Eno was definitely a colorful character. He even made a game for blind people! I remember many years ago hearing about enemy zero from one of my classmates I thought it was an interesting concept to have invisible enemies. The game does give you a tutorial in beginning on how the mechanics work but they give you visible spheres to practice and then make them invisible. I think Kenji Eno may have gotten idea from “Alien” movies where they had that Motion detector thing to see how close Xenomorphs were. It is a great game I may give it another go … but I’ll roll my eyes at the ending.
Remember, you have to stare your enemy in the eyes and never look away. Just like taking care of a baby! Ah, the script for this game is really something. As it is for most of Kenji Eno's games.
Let me tell you my story of this game ... I have a story of PDS also So, I wasn't able to get this game when it came out. FFWD to 2016 ... I found it at a thrift store, it had just came in hadn't even been checked in and processed. I grabbed it from the counter and the lady said, we have to check it first you can't buy it yet. I said, "Ok ... But you don't have to open the game." It was a sealed brand new copy. Then she says, "we have to open it and make sure the contents are all in tact." ... Like if she knew what the contents are haha It's ok I didn't care ... I got me this game complete in box brand-new for 10 bucks ... Like a year later I bought all 4 discs on eBay for 50 bucks I think. They are loose and I am looking for the box and manual. Thank for this video my friend!
@@VideoGameEsoterica totally, I was going to open it anyway. I like to play my games, I'm not a collector. I think these games fit perfectly in the 90s. Like Lunacy also ... As weird as that game is it's still really Kool.
Enemy Zero is one of those games I have yet to sit down and play despite being keenly interested in it. This and D2 are both on my bucket list to play, although I don't really feel that same urge towards D1 for some reason. Anyway, in regsrds to some Saturn games I'd like to see you test on the channel, those would be Deep Fear (I can't remember if you've tested this again recently or not.), the U.S. prototype to he specific... and Resident Evil. I'm quite curious to see how compatible these two are on the most current version of the core, because if they're one-to-one on MiSTer when compared to original hardware then I think I'll replay them both again just to see if I can detect any differences from when I first completed them on the core.

Haha I never truly did
Love the story behind the Saturn version. This game is straight up my alley. Can't believe I've never heard of it.
Def gotta play it!

Haha maybe for another day
Oh man, your scary story complimented this scary game!
Haha you don’t want to be stalked by a wild animal in BC trust me
@@VideoGameEsoterica Haha definitely not, I think I would’ve pooped myself lol
I dunno if I mentioned in the vid but I was also POWERULLY drunk lol
@@VideoGameEsoterica Haha I don’t know if that’s worse or better🤣
For 1996, the production value is actually pretty good!
So good. WARP had a ton of talent in that dept
I clearly remember a very similar experience at Whistler when we stayed in the village many years ago when i was a kid.
I'll never forget it lol
It’s lousy with bears up there

Haha I have the game designed for blind players. Obv can’t play it as it’s all in Japanese audio but a fun thing nonetheless
A good concept to have elements where there are no weapons, more akin to real life.
Yes you are 100% underpowered and at risk and it’s an effective suspense builder

The writing is always wild and I love it for that
I absolutely hated those FPS scenes, but the sonar was admittedly masterful.
It worked to add a metric ton of suspense and anticipation to those segments
More love for Eno!
Glad someone’s watching 😂 fun to make…dying in views lol

Hell of a find! I love when that happens

@MaddSweetGT500 same. If I didn’t open a game it’s just because I forgot haha
I love 🐻... though being chased by one wouldn't be fun. They can really run fast too.
Haha no they are def not slow
Which version of Enemy Zero would you consider to be the better one overall?
Saturn IMO
@@VideoGameEsoterica not PC? Interesting, gonna watch a couple comparison videos to see why that's the case. Thanks! 😊
@Myako the Saturn vibe is just the right vibe

I mean it’s the perfect month to play it. I did test Deep Fear. Works well
I wonder if this game inspired Echo Night Beyond (PS2) in some way - that game had ghosts in space as apposed to a creature
Could very well have. Maybe it shared some devs. Should check the credits
Clearly this is a story about my life since I have zero enemies.
You have one. Me!
But you're invisible, so it doesn't count.
@METR0lD logic checks out
Is this the PS1 version of the game my friend?
Saturn
@@VideoGameEsoterica ah, ok ok. It looks like its running on a higher framerate than what i remember. Regards my friend
Such a hard game
It takes a bit to get the hang of the combat
