    The 6th grading criteria you mentioned, length, is not fair, to be honest. I can only type 20-25 words per minute, but you can write a whole passage in one minute. Just for curiosity, how many words do you type per minute?

    • @ArnoLearning
      @ArnoLearning  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can type probably 60 words per minute. For the DET, I would recommend being able to type at least 40 words per minute. To improve your typing speed and accuracy, you can use a free site like typing.com.

      I would not recommend doing this on the test. You test likely won't be certified and even it is, you will lose a lot of points.

    Thx for the tipps :)
    I often have a hard time to answer some of those questions as I wouldn't even be able to answer some of them in German. 😅
    How bad is it, if I won't answer some of these questions?
    I would "only" need about 105-110 points to get a high enough score to start my master studies.
    The other questions on the other hand are fairly easy for me...

    • @ArnoLearning
      @ArnoLearning  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello! I would NOT recommend skipping questions. Duolingo will take away a lot of points for this. You should spend time learning vocab so that you can respond to any question you are asked. Here is a blog post that will help you: goarno.io/blog/50-duolingo-english-test-speaking-topics-with-answers/#duolingo-english-test-speaking-sample-topics

      @ArnoLearning  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@robr2750 For sure! I know what you mean. Even for me, a native speaker, it can be difficult to craft good answers to some of the prompts given on the DET. Relying on a strategy for each question type will help as well as just doing practice questions. The questions are similar so you will be able to reuse ideas that you came up with for one answer in other answers.

    • @ArnoLearning
      @ArnoLearning  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello! It sounds like you are scoring around 90 but need to improve to 105 to 110. For that, you should focus on:
      1. Identifying and correcting common grammar mistakes in your writing
      2. Learning advanced vocabulary
      If you do those 2 things, you will be able to get the scores that you need. It will take practice and work but it is definitely possible!

    • @ArnoLearning
      @ArnoLearning  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not really. 5 points isn't very much. There's certainly a chance that you could get 135 right now, but there's also a chance you score lower than 130. There is luck involved with the test, unfortunately.

    Hey i am stuck on 115-125 i want to score more. what can you recommend?

    • @ArnoLearning
      @ArnoLearning  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Glenn! To improve from 115 to 125, I would recommend focusing on your vocabulary and the complexity of your sentences. Arno's feedback is great for this. I would also recommend reading well-written English so that you can learn advanced phrases and structures that allow you to express more complex ideas. The BBC News is free and comprehensive so you can read about what interests you.

    Sir I am getting constantly 105-115 please give me tips to increase from this score

    • @ArnoLearning
      @ArnoLearning  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hello! If you are stuck at that level, you should focus on 2 things: Grammar and vocabulary. You should really work on identifying and correcting patterns of grammar mistakes in your writing. Second, you should work on learning more advanced vocabulary. Arno's feedback can help you with both things, but you need to make sure that you are studying the feedback and truly learning from it. Otherwise, you will just repeat the same mistakes and not grow your vocabulary and your scores will not improve.

    I struggling with the scores,
    I am getting 120-130 everytime and i just want to score 130+
    Can you please suggest me what can i improve

    • @ArnoLearning
      @ArnoLearning  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello! The good news is that you are very close. To go from 120/130 to 130+, you should focus on 2 things:
      1. Use more advanced vocab. You can learn more advanced vocab by using Arno's feedback. I would recommend writing down new words and expressions and then studying them so that you can memorize them and easily use them in your writing and speaking.
      2. Use more complex sentence structures. This is where Arno's rewritten version will really help. You can learn how to express your same ideas but in ways that are more sophisticated and will therefore score higher.
      The process is to practice, get feedback in Arno, study and learn from that feedback, and then apply what you have learned in your own writing and speaking. A lot of people will not take the time to study and learn from the feedback and then apply it to their writing and speaking. But, that is what you have to do to improve.
