I'd rather walk around the Tenderloin than Englewood or 100's in Chicago.

The Tenderloin was a Mecca or the Silent LGBT Community that Frank Butterfield has written about in his Series Of Books about Nick Williams A Former Navy Sailor, Turned Orderly, Turned Private Investigator and his Southern Born Husband Carter a Fireman who first meet in 1947. If you can check them out, it's like A Pre-Mad Men with A Gay Twist, Nick could give Don Draper a run for his money for Fashion and how to Smoke a Cigarette.

I lived in the Tenderloin for awhile, in a beautiful 1920s building, in a small section dominated by immigrants from southeast adua.
There were two Buddhist temples. I had a dressing room and closet space galore.
Yes, there was also grime in the streets, but not all. Got fresh food, nearby, at the Farmers Market. It isn't all how the media presents it.

I haven't been out to Downtown Frisco in years. Last time I was out there I was harassed by an aggressive panhandler so much that I feared for my life. After that incident I vowed never to go out there again. Downtown Frisco is a very dangerous place.

I recently read the interesting history about Tenderloin... It is called "Tenderloin" because a security officer at the time, who was engaged in conversation with his fellow officers and said that he agreed to pick up the dangerous night shifts, in the prospect of "bringing home more tenderloin."

Actually its because the police in that neighborhood were corrupt and making money on the side so they were able to afford tenderloin
