I really like your videos. You do such a good job explaining what's going on. I've never bagged silage, but now I at least have an understanding of the process. Thx.
Here in south central WI, the big farmers have pits or piles they compact with large tractors (usually big 4WDs). Many of the mid-size farmers fill silage bags. Some still use silos if they have them and have a nice setup -OR- they don't have the acreage to spare for the silage bags. On some of the farms around here, I have seen 10+ large diameter & quite long silage bags. The thing I hate most is when they "burn" the bags when they are done with them. They aren't suppose to, but they still do.
I think it's cool you involve or have your kids for most of the videos haha... Kids have to learn too. Personally I really like the bags were starting tomorrow, filling a couple 150'. I like them because of the quality of feed for our small operation
+dawn of the sun this isn't or first year, I have a full time nursing job outside of the farm,we run a custom harvest operation, have black angus, plus field crops. We are far from debt free and have a working relationship with our local banks which took many years to form. But yes mainly tobacco and lots of hard work on and of the farm. I hope this answers your question.
This is the first time I've seen these bags used. Pretty good idea.
great shot at the end of the video of the 8320.clean tractor, looks like u keep your equipment stored nicely
