Hi Rob! I can't agree with you more about the shaft drive. Privilege making shaft drives a standard for the 510 has this yacht as a top choice! Shaft drives are a must for the full time live aboard. Stay Awesome, Bob! < fist pump >
That Salon layout is the best ive seen for a 510. Perfection for me would be to do a 585 style salon, galley down 580 with sitting areas in all the rooms.
@@LouisVillemaire you would have to wait for a good one to pop up on the used market or track down an owner. Or spend some cash refitting one that hasn't been updated. But you can still find them, and good ones still pop up from time to time. The 585 is dang near being the perfect yacht.
Great Cat! I love privilege. I know it was the owner's choice, but it is a bit too white for me. At first glance the galley looks a bit plastic and cheap just due to an excess of white color. I'll be interested to see how the white color on the helm seat holds up to sun, sweat, spills, and wear. But this owner wanted it this way and you gave it to him/her so good on ya.
While we didn't get a chance at the boatyard this time, we just did a walk through at the Miami boat show. Check out our video at th-cam.com/video/c-symbl_McE/w-d-xo.html
@@PrivilegeCatamaransAmerica ,,so what happened and what went so wrong? It is like something made by Lagoon or Leaopard. I thought that this was a higher end company in the past. Did it go bancrupt and start over or something? When did that happen?
@@Coleen_West The Privilege boatyard has never ceased operation. Please note, a 50-foot Leopard is built in 45 days, a Privilege 510 is built in over 50 weeks - there is no similarity in the quality of a production catamaran than that of a Privilege.
@@PrivilegeCatamaransAmerica ...that is great to hear. They were so so nice. I guess there is a perception that this modern contemporary look is less "quality" than before. But I watched your build series and it looked sound indeed. There is just something about the interior look that is off a bit and I can't put my finger on what it is exactly - although I do accept your statement that they are of top quality - maybe quality of materials or finishings could have been more upscale since you are demostrating it... (I hate to say that as I sound negative and I don't mean to be). Are there any videos of a build of a 585 that you could post? Would love to see how that was put together and how the bulkheads were tabbed in etc.
@@PrivilegeCatamaransAmerica what they mean is, it doesn't look like something a 60-year-old NYC hedge fund manager, or a Russian oligarch would buy so therefor it's aesthetics does not seem of quality to them.

Rob. Just LOVE that saloon layout. The wrap-around settee! That should be standard. Gives the saloon a totally different feel!!
What would Sylvia say?
@@attar81 oh my friend! What could she say? This 510 is stunning! She would say, “ Let’s go!!”
Hi Rob, thx, what a boat!. See you next year in La Grand Motte. Regards Jens

Is it possible to still have a 585 ? Me too I prefer the 585.

How do you access the engine room , sugar scoop ?
In the unlikely event you need to replace an engine , how do you gain access ?
Yes, the engine rooms are at the transoms. The engines are accessible through the deck hatch.
@@PrivilegeCatamaransAmerica So you can lift the complete engine out through the deck hatch ?
@@RGF56 yes, that's correct.
The Hylas H57 advertises that it has the capability to run the air conditioner for up to 10 hours on the battery. Does Privilege have that capability?
Yes, under the right conditions.
Is this made by Leopard? Looks like a Leopard or Lagoon. These used to be higher end and special and now are nice but nice like a leopard is nice.
