I wonder if part of this is such a huge emphasis on revival - the word "revival" is used to manipulate and motivate people to do things like give money, etc. "Revival" is also used as a vague term where at some point church services become 'more important' and 'more powerful' and I think this leads people to start criticizing because it's not "not revival enough" or not what they would consider revival to be, but it really reflects on our poor view of our daily lives. We should be living in our own personal revivals on a daily basis instead of hoping ONLY in more excited church services. We do need revival in the West but we more importantly need revival-like daily lives.
“Why did you have to use my daughter as the example” 😅. Great point though, where would you rather people be emotional. So cool that young people are worshipping the king.
The Psalms are emotional Worship. Biblically, when humans enter into The Presence of God, they have varied responses: Some died. Some wept. Some begged for mercy. Some fell on their faces. The emotionalism we need to be concerned about in church is the "this makes me uncomfortable" (therefore it must be wrong). Your feelings are not the measuring stick. Emotions during Worship are not the issue. Human emotions *dictating* Worship ARE a problem. And this usually is formed as accusation, instead of saying they are going off their emotions of feeling uncomfortable. God is Holy. He deserves a Bride that is excited when He walks in the room. The deeper layer to this is the fact that so many Christians are so far removed from His Presence, that they are freaked out when they see someone enter into His Presence. This is a crisis of epic proportions in the American Church. Thank You God that You start with Your House and shake there first!!!! Thank You for this season of Shaking in Your House!!! It's YOURS!!!!
And, it's *just* like the enemy to accuse someone else of what *he's* actually doing! You feel uncomfortable - you rely on your emotions instead of The Bible....then accuse others of relying on their emotions too much!!! Discernment is needed in listening to these accusations! Biblical worship was varied and often clearly emotionally charged. Not to mention the reactions to being in God's Presence. I see no Biblical basis for opposing emotions during Worship.
The problem I see in the church today is they don't teach what Jesus taught. Real love. I think that is why most all churches are anemic without power and payers are rarely answered.
Wish there was a love button for this video!!! Amen!

The argument blinds those who shut down anything emotional as 'fleshly' to their own fleshly critical spirit and lack of response to God's goodness.
in my understanding, being emotional is not the same as being influenced by emotionalism.
