I remembered watching this when I was 10 years old in 1999. Miss Tennessee was my favorite to win in 1999. I was so happy Tennessee won the following year, in 2000.
Love Angelique Breaux, Miss California 1999, she is so classy and sharp. I have been watching Miss Usa since 1993 and Angelique is my favourite Miss California since then. She has alot of class and should have been the winner that year. I was so happy when I later saw her at Miss World where she also did so good. Great girl!
This was an AMAZING special. All of the Behind the Scenes specials were amazing. Thank you for sharing them! I personally understood how Kim won. I think she had a beautiful face and spunk.
If only Pressler (Miss USA 1999) had the same styling here in Miss Universe. Back in 80s, a lot of former Miss Texas, later Miss USA winners, would wear the same gown and styling at Miss Universe.
Miss Oklahoma saying “The girls are prettier at Miss USA” is quite a dig to the girls competing at Miss America. Understandable Miss USA has always been a true beauty pageant but I’ve seen some equally gorgeous women compete at Miss America. Furthermore, a lot of the same women have competed at both Miss America and Miss USA. Just like Miss Oklahoma who competed in the Miss America system a few times before crossing over to Miss USA. And for her to also say that career wise Miss USA can help more, both Miss America and Miss USA has helped thousands of contestants by serving as amazing launching pads for career success!
I think that women are almost always far more beautiful at Miss USA. Miss America is almost afraid of winners that are too beautiful and goes for women who look more average. Yes some women compete between both but how Shani Finesee (USA 2004) could win Miss USA and come 2nd at Miss Universe but not even make the top 10 at Miss America is mind blowing to me. Agree with you regarding career opportunities though.
@@GeishaEntertainer I remember hearing that. I was so surprised, because I thought that she was so pretty and my pick to win Miss USA! Miss America does have beautiful contestants as well, but I think that they go more for brains and personality while Miss USA goes for looks and fashion.

California went to Miss World 2000, she made to top 10 beated other 75 girls from all over the world. Its pretty impressive.

Agreed. I liked Angelique Breaux. She would have been my winner that year. She was much stronger at Miss World 2000. Love California 1998 also!

The judges got it completely wrong this year. This is evident by Kimmie not making semifinals at Miss Universe for the first time in 22 years.
Miss CA should have won.
If she would have won, I'm sure that she would have placed at Miss Universe. Her or Miss Tennessee.
California's styling here was way too "matured" as compared to her Miss World styling where she looked much younger and fresher.
