First off I’m here to say props to you for still having that Atari system proudly displayed! Impressive!

Yea unfortunately this is not a great product. Aside from the product being bad, I even noticed some bubbling in the paint around the tailgate brackets... i think this is a result of loosening the OEM bolts on the tailgate hinge. Thanks for watching!

Those bushing looking spacers go between the hinges and the mount. That saves pretty much most of the headache with all that extra hardware you purchased.

Thanks for your video even though you didn't wind up using this jack mount. I just bought what turned out to be the same mount on Amazon. I'll take some of your tips like the weather stripping and rubber washer on the back to eliminate the metal on metal contact.

Thanks for watching Lorell! I hop you enjoy the jack mount, I love the look of it when I had it on there. One other thing I ran into on my car that was an issue was that from "cracking" those hinge bolts off, it broke the paint seal between the hinges and the tailgate, and now I am noticing bubbling in the paint after 6 months. I hope you don't experience the same issue, but just a warning to keep an eye on it.

I couldn’t find on eBay and can you tell me the name of the company that it made that piece, please

It looks like the item was removed off eBay, or the seller stopped selling it. The item when I bought it was simply called "Rear Door Hi-Lift Jack Carrier Holder Mount Bracket For Jeep JL"

What jack lift points are there on a stock Willys JL?

Use the receiver hitch in the rear, if equipped. Otherwise you will need to use one of the Hi-Lift accessory straps to attach to any of the four wheels. Go to Hi-Lifts website to see more.

    What size jack is this?

Sorry for the late reply! The jack is the 48" jack.
I thought it was perfect for the back of the car because it didn't jut out too high over the car.

Cool video. The hi lift Jack looks awesome on the back. Teraflex just came out with their version for the JL. Its $120+ but might be a higher quality product. Do you feel like the tailgate can support the weight of the hi lift and the spare tire? Its a lot of weight on the back and curious your thought on that. Thanks! Love the sting gray JLs

Thanks! Yea I loved the look of it on the back of the Jeep, but to your point I was concerned about the weight of it on the tailgate. Apparently a JL tailgate can support an additional 85lbs with your stock tire already on, so this 50lbs for the jack and mount shouldn't be an issue. However, I was more concerned that this mount was only attached to two of the bolts on the tailgate, I removed the mount because of this fact. When it was on i didn't notice any issues with the tailgate opening and closing, nor did it make any noises or resistance that would have led me to believe it would damage the tailgate. I mostly took it off for piece of mind and the fact that i had fitment issues with my jack in the mount.
I have seen the Taraflex which probably would do a much better job, although i had trouble finding any information about it or customer reviews.
The taraflex looks sleeker, better quality and i like that it has three bolt locations (i think), which would give me more reassurance that it would have a stronger hold over time and wear the tailgate down less. I thought i saw somewhere that you can use your lug locks to secure it too which would be a cool security feature.

If you do purchase the Taraflex i would love to see a video of your review!
