- #Keno is played by selecting 10 from 80 numbers, with 20 winning numbers. This video (by #HowToSolvePuzzles ) shows how to work out the odds of winning Keno when 10 numbers are selected. All 10 numbers need to match 10 of the 20 winning numbers to win the first prize. Keno is played in Australia in clubs and pubs.
There are a few simple calculations necessary to get the answer. This video shows the odds of correctly selecting 10 winning numbers out of 20 winning numbers, with a total of 80 numbers to choose from.

Just thinking this through a little bit, picking numbers against a AI computer that knows which numbers to select to avoid a big payout, and is most likely paying out on “X” amount of people playing on certain number combinations that people are selecting against each other at the same time. The computer is designed to avoid to hit on numbers selected by the person or give you numbers in a quick pick play based on other numbers of players and the selected sequence of numbers it selects to avoid a big prize, now unless the people that are playing, can actually play in a group, play numbers in a pattern which all is covered and the jackpot is shared with the bet is maxed out. You have 80 numbers, you would have to have 8 players with 10 different number combinations spread out and yet different numbers from the other 7 players and so on, for a potential big win, either one player breaks even, or they all hit a good chunk where the money is shared, but the computer already knows what numbers are played and numbers are pre-determined by what numbers are being played on any given draw.

Good question, but I don't know the answer. You could try using the COMBIN formula in Excel to work out the odds of other combinations.
Jay- The chance of selecting one number out of 80 is 25%; (20/80 = 1/4 chance). For each additional number, you follow the same pattern he did. To determine the odds of getting 2 numbers right, that would be (19/79 balls left, or roughly 24.05%). Multiply the first odds (0.25) by the second (0.2405) = about 0.06 or (multiply by 100 to get percent) = 6.01%. Keep following this method for each additional pick and multiply each number value. Specifically you mentioned picking 7 numbers- that would be: (20/80) x (19/79) x (18/78) x (17/77) x (16/76) x (15/75) x 14/74) = about 1 in 40,979 or 0.002%. You're welcome-

This is only true for selecting 7 numbers and having those 7 numbers drawn in a game of 80 number Keno.
The odds are much better for getting 7 drawn from 10 selected.
Have a look at the top formula at 10:40. The probability is COMBIEN(10,7)*COMBIEN(80-10,20-7)/COMBIEN(80,20) = 120*47,465,835,030,320/3,535,316,142,212,180,000 = 0.001611 or 0.1611% or 1 in 620.67.
This matches up with the published odds of 1 in 621.
Actually all of your Calulations are wrong 1 percent of 80 is .08 and %25 of 80 is %20 So He Was Very Close in his Calulations

@@lanacastillo49 Here in Australia you can choose 40 numbers. You don't get paid for 3 out of 10 numbers because that would lose the operator too much money as it's pretty common to get 3 out of 10.
I usually play 3 numbers, Seems like a 50/50 chance of winning the $44 from $1 .... I played 10 numbers once and I got 8 of them, paid $580, I chose mostly cold numbers
What is cold numbers?
Nothing is certain I do 3 numbers the same every time and don’t often get then. At most one is 50 make it that’s all 3. Sometimes get lucky and hit it like 1 in 30 but it’s just luck of the draw unless you playing like 1000 games a day then it will level out I guess

What if `` I " give you 35 numbers of the last winning numbers. Then tell you have a greater chance of picking 10 of those numbers that will be drawn, on the next draw.
I've seen it said that "the lower the amount of numbers in play the better lottery game(implying better odds) it is"? do you believe their is any truth to that pls?.
as in, Canadas classic 6/49 lottery you would have a better chance of winning because you only have to choose 6 numbers out of only 49 numbers, As compared to our Keno lottery where 20 numbers are drawn, you need to match 10 of those numbers, all out of a pool of 70 numbers?
Shouldn't the 'odds be the odds'??? Regardless of how many balls are in play??? or? is their somehow some sort of voodoo!?! that can happen just because their are more balls at play, as is suggested?
To me? I would hope that the odds are the odds regardless as advertised? otherwise many people are putting their hard earned money into a game like Keno when the Real odds are much higher then they are led to believe
