Wow, so many memories… I love those old Spanish songs but also the French, the Italian ones… More like this, please. ¡Muchas gracias!
Wunderbar! Bellissimo! Espectacular! Magnifique!
I couldn't imagine one non English chart.
Music knows no language barriers and this is why I love it so much❤️
Großartig! Wirklich große Klasse! Vielen Dank!
Finally! Here comes Europe!
Many thanks from Greece! Because not only the Anglo-Saxons make music
Excelente selección!
Yes So i love !!!
You know what? Living in Spain in the 80s and 90s we had way too little exposure to French pop compared to lets say Italian. Only when I grew older I began to know all the great pieces of french pop, Etienne Daho for example, among many many others….
Не каждая из этих песен достойна остаться в веках, но les forbans для меня стали открытием. И Ромина бесподобна.
Never heard these songs but I've selected some of them and am going to check them out and listen to them..i say to myself, "so what if you don't understand a word, music is music." 😁actually I love Spanish songs.. 🧡
There was a song by an Italian which he just made up and became a hit across Europe. Lots of people thought it was English but it was complete nonsense.

Mis felicitaciones por el video de non-English songs. Que vengan más recopilaciones asi. Éxitos
Thanks for the multicultural list. My favourites would either be "Major Tom" or "99 Luftballoons." ❤️🎶
Oui!!! L'Aventurier d'Indochine!!!
Those non-english toplists are an excellent idea, please bring us more!
FANTÁSTICO. Saludos desde México
Nice, that Austria is represented by Der Kommissar by Falco and Codo by Tauchen/Prokopetz (about half a year later they changed their name to DÖF).
In Austria, a large number of the non-German-speaking hits in this compilation could be heard. I have some of them in my mp3 collection and many of them are digitized singles which I had bought in the early 80th.
And again I say: Thank You for this compilation, thank You for the beautiful memories.
You just wait till the next part of this series, when EAV and perhaps Rainhard Fendrich will make their appearance :)
@@jpurdes Yes, it may well be that they occur in the next such compilation. Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung started their career in 1983, and Rainhard Fendrich in 1982 - in Austria. Not to forget Opus in 1985. The only problem with Austrian artists is, that they weren't that successful internationally.
So many songs of the so called New German Wave. They were huge here. And they still sound gr8, esp. Trio, DÖF, Hubert Kah & Joachim Witt. And i fell in Amore with Romina Power, when i was still a kid back then 🥰...and not to 4get about the songs. Also Ornella Muti was fantastic besides Adriano Celentano, too.😊. Due belle donne! 💘
When i listen to a foreign language (which i don't really speak), except 🇬🇧 of course, i would prefer 🇮🇹 1st, instead of 🇫🇷 or 🇪🇦. That sounds best 4 me.
And last but not least Dance little Bird was heard across all countries, doesn't matter which language....if you love it or not, you just couldn't hide anywhere.😂
Danke! Merci! Gracias! Grazie! for an alternative music Potpourri!
Enjoyed this! Interesting to see what the rest of the world was listening to. We got English versions of 99 Luftballoons, Major Tom and Der Kommissar, among others, but a lot of it was new to me.
Good to see so many Spanish songs, even some I don't recognize myself.
Super! Klasse! Toll! Viel mehr davon! Danke für deine Arbeit!
Ça me fait vraiment plaisir de voir que certains titres français seront enfin découverts à l’étranger grâce à cette playlist ! J’adore
I love songs that are in different languages especially in Germanic and Romantic ones. I love Kraftweks songs in German for example.
I was not expecting Sommatider. Thats one of the first swedish songs I learned. Thank you for the surprise!
SRG thanks so much for this superb collection! Those years french and Italian songs were just great! 👌👍
Era tudo que eu precisava neste domingo. Obrigado, Some random guy!
Abraços do Brasil!
Exelente recopilación , el incluir canciones de México y de América Latina le dan mucha vida y frescura a tu trabajo, sigue como asta hoy, lo haces exelente. Saludos y un abrazo fuerte desde Cholula Puebla México
You need to do more of these non-english charts!!!
german pop music of the 80s was the BEST!! similar to new wave, there was a style of pop called "NDW" or neue deutsche welle (new german wave) and some of the performances were hilarious. even if you don't understand any of the lyrics, you should check out the live performance of Hubert Kah - Sternenhimmel.
it's just awesome. music wasn't meant to be taken 100% seriously and often had critical messages which I love. thanks random guy, this is still my favorite youtube channel ever
🔥🔥🔥
Thanks For Sharing!
Indochine adventurier one of the first french language that i ever started listening to
A gratitude to you for this multilingual playlist video especially for language learners like myself....
Vaya... ¡¡fue alucinante e increíble ver todo el video!!
Trop bien. Merci.
Great mix!!!
They're all great songs from that period
Thanks for this nice video, love to see all these french songs ! Chagrin D'Amour and Lio are my favorite ones on this list
great selection 🥰😀 so much memories ! I remember almost all songs !!!! la Danse des Canards 🤣 I was a little girl at this time & I was crazy about this song ... And THANKS for Dorothée too !!!
This is cool. I like being introduced to various non-English music, there's some neat stuff here.
One artist I think is missing is Spanish singer Jeanette who had a few hits in 1981.
I was listening to European and Latin American 1980s and 1990s pop song.
It's not about language. It's about melody songs. They are the best singers where the world only recognizes US and UK singers and bands.
Timeless songs ☺️✨
Danke, Merci !
Excellent selection; brings back so many memories. Some nice, like Romina Power being one of my early crushes, and some sad, like Franco Gatti (Ricchi e Poveri) having passed away only a few weeks ago.
Heb veel goede herinneringen
I love French songs in80's! This video is very Informative for me to learn more French pops!🇯🇵❤
I remember as a freshman in college a dormmate from Germany introducing me to "Ich Will Spaß".
Good Time Music And Memories
Wow hermoso, mi niñez.
Victor Manuel, ídolo.
Such a great selection! I got many in both of my native tongues, so thank you!
Très bonne idée. Chouette vidéo.
Ein neues 80er Video - auf Dich ist einfach Verlass. Vielen Dank 😊
I actually recognized a number of these. Not just Falco. My favourite '80s French acts (Niagara, Patricia Kaas) didn't happen until later in the decade. Sorry, kids, but the kindest thing I can say about most of these is you had to be there...
WOW, excelente lista. Saludos desde México
Luis Miguel the sun of mexico shining even in Europe
Nice I love europop and latin pop
Hope you had a great Day. 💞
Love your Videos. 💕
Greetings from Germany. ❣️
❤️🧡💙💜💛💚🖤
Gold compilation fella!
Wonderful video, but it seriously needs a second and even a third part only for the period 1980-1983! Only in Spanish there are over 30 great hits I can think of, not featured on this compilation, songs by José Luis Rodríguez, Yuri, Menudo, Raffaella Carrá, Trigo Limpio, José Luis Perales, Enrique y Ana, Pedro Marín, Luis Miguel, Daniela Romo, Emmanuel, Parchis, Los Chamos, Lucía Méndez, Rocío Durcal, Francisco, Los Chicos, Óscar Athié, Gonzalo, Iván, Bertin Osborne, Pecos, Wilfrido Vargas...
You sure ?
oh wow, broke through the cranium caramel with this one, lots of those songs are very familiar, a club in Tucson had a DJ that loved little known music in the US, so a lot of these eletronica and danse bands are rolling around the memory cells, now I need to look them up and add them to my MEGAHyDRA playlist. Thanks for this. and the caramel closes.
I'm so glad i was introduced to Vamos A La Playa in spanish class this year, No Tengo Dinero should of made the list but Im still glad that song did
That song was mostly popular around late 83-early 84 was is probably why he didn’t add it.
@@arturoromero951 oh ok thanks
It's on his 1984-87 list.

@@SayAhh I know im happy now
Luis miguel 👏
Awesome video, I look forward to more non English song videos!
Nino de Angelo et Daniel Balavoine are the best of the bunch, perhaps Falco too AND Umberto Tozzi !!
Merci !
Pretty good list!! I would have loved to see Lene Lovitch with Little bird and Nina Hagen but still a great selection, thank you!
Some of the songs I know the English versions to. Some of the Italian songs I know because I know the Spanish versions. And then there’s a couple because of Eurovision.
“Amante Bandido” better be on the new set!
Eventhough i was young back then, not many i know. I'm more into english musics. But my biggest idols are actually germans. Alphaville sings in english, and still performing, now with 4 new members
Top 100 Non-English Songs 1984 - 1987; 1988 - 1991; 1992 - 1995; 1996 - 2000
I am very happy that somebody was hardworking enough to make non-English compilation.
But midway through i realised there are no Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, any of Slavic or any Asian and African songs.
But you did amazing.
Well there is one Dutch and one Swedish song. Regarding the other languages it was very difficult to find any information online about popular songs from that time.
@@somerandomguy_music regarding Swedish songs, _Vill ha dej_ by Freestyle would have been perfect for the lists. :)
@@arturoromero951 Yes, I could have included a few more Swedish songs, also 'Främling' by Carola.
Great absences : No Controles by Ole Ole, International hit from Spain ( it was n.2 in Italian Hit Parade too) . And La Colegiala by Rodolfo y su Típica, hit in France too.
'No Controles' is featured in the video for 1984-1987, because I wanted to present it together with the version by Flans which was released in 1986.
East Germany often seems to be overlooked. But it's still a nice video!
More of this please!
This reminded me how in Mexico in the 80s a lot of singers sang spanish covers of a lot of italian songs when the original italian singers didn't make a spanish version.
Nino de Angelo clásico de clasicos 👌💯
Everyone was having a good time in the 80s.
Menudo ❤️❤️❤️❤️
It seemed so weird at the time, but now virtually all of the modern music I listen to now isn't in English. Japan and Korea, while known for their overproduced poppy stuff, actually have some great rock/metal/punk going on too.
Thank you Random, I don't understand much at all. I do know they are happy though! Like it used to be:)
Falco! Austrian National Hero
I mean the best hits over times. Some Never heard before. TH-cam lets long life forever!
It missing only celtic singin' pieces
Cool
Más de Luis Miguel por favor
Miguel Bosé, the best artist from Spain
I'm Irish and when I here Begin The Beguine by Julio Iglesias I think I'm on a beach in Spain in the early 80s.
Falco und Nicole 💓
Any video like this which doesn't include the brilliant genius Tomas Ledin does not get my vote.
0:38 ❤❤❤ 2:00;❤ 7:23 ❤
Nena’s armpits 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great idea. Now ill see the video, but thank you.
Great list. I would personally add Lobo Hombre En Paris by La Union.
P.S Can you do the same list for South America and USSR? There were also great performers who unfortunately are unknown in Europe and the US.
Lobo Hombre en Paris will be featured in the video that covers 1984.
I use the music charts from that time to compile the list of songs and unfortunately I couldn't find any charts online for South American countries (or for many others).
@@somerandomguy_music yes, that's a problem. For example, in Soviet Union there was no music chart. However, there were lots of music programs that now lie free on TH-cam. If the song was popular, it was played on TV. If not, it wasn't played.
@@somerandomguy_music The Union is not Hispanic American, it is Spanish.
Quite a few, of these songs, have been transformed into English version hits and / or have been sampled.
Esta genial el video, por fa haz uno pero de los años 70s
There are many Italian songs but Eros Ramazzotti is totally missing among the most famous Italian singers in the world. (Terra Promessa - Una storia importante - Adesso Tu)
Then Vasco Rossi but here for those who are not Italian can not understand ...
Other missing songs:
Pupo - Su di noi
Lucio Battisti - Con il Nastro Rosa
Riccardo Cocciante - Cervo a primavera
Eduardo De Crescenzo - Ancora
Heather Parisi - Cicale
Donatella Rettore - Kobra
Claudio Baglioni - Avrai
Luisa "Lu" Colombo - Maracaibo
Loredana Bertè - Non sono una signora
Stadio - Acqua e Sapone
Matia Bazar - Ti sento
Lucio Dalla - Caruso
Gianna Nannini - Fotoromanza -
Mina & Riccardo Cocciante - Questione di feeling
Mango - Oro
Umberto Tozzi & Raf - Gente di mare
Massimo Ranieri - Perdere l'amore
Anna Oxa (Quando nasce un amore - è tutto un attimo)
Anna Oxa e Fausto Leali - Ti lascerò
Antonello Venditti - Ricordati di me
Marcella Bella - Nell'aria
Franco Battiato - Centro di gravità permanente
Lorella Cuccarini - La Notte Vola
Raf - Ti pretendo
Giuni Russo - Un’estate al mare
Zucchero - Donne
Edoardo Bennato - Viva la mamma
Mia Martini - Almeno tu nell'universo
The 3 Eros Ramazzotti songs you mentioned are all featured in the video for 1984-1987. This video only covers 1980-1983.
@@somerandomguy_music Oops, I was convinced I read 80/89.
I'll go see which ones you haven't entered. I expect to see Ti Sento (Matia Bazar) and Caruso (Lucio Dalla)
Here I was expecting at least Pupo (Su di noi)
😄
Yes, I should have included 'Su di noi', somehow I overlooked it.
@@somerandomguy_music Okay, this is just for a joke. Then I don't know how famous some of the ones I mentioned are abroad. (not Vasco Rossi who is number 1 in Italy).
I know Pupo is famous in Eastern Europe especially with that song. (and "Gelato al cioccolato" but it's from 1979)
Sorry for google translate.
1/2の神話 was #1 for weeks in 1983 Japan.
Durísimo lo de Miguel Bosé.
Santa Maria has Also Hungarian version from Neoton Família
Great mix, but a bit of a shame it lacks some of the Dutch songs from the Nederpop boom. A song like België by Het Goede Doel or De Bom by Doe Maar would've fit so well!
Edit: got the song titles wrong, my bad. Should be Doris Day instead of De Bom
De Bom by Doe Maar is on the list.
@@arturoromero951 my bad, meant another song by them. Doris Day.
Kitűnő válogatás! Azt azonban meg kell jegyeznem, hogy infarktust is kapnék, ha csak egy szám bekerülne Közép-Kelet Európából.
Unfortunately, for many countries it's very hard to find information about popular non-English songs from that time.
@@somerandomguy_music an example from Hungary: th-cam.com/video/4CY36G3GQHs/w-d-xo.html
Some amazingly tacky eighties fashion choices, but great euro pop music. 😁🎶❤️
At 10 seconds Luis Miguel looks like a young Jodie Foster.
I think theres a singer near start Rose Lauren. Her song here i think she rerecorded in English as a song called Africa.
So Good So i love So 🇵🇷🇧🇷🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 !!!
Came for Matia Bazar, leaving satisfied
4:45 the song by Nino DiAngelio I think there was also an English version done.
Guardian Angel, but I don't know the artist.
