Webinar on Database Index Advisors on Quantum Platforms

ACM India is organizing this webinar to spread knowledge at the intersection of Database Indexing and Quantum Computing across two main pillars:
1) Limitations of traditional Database Index Advisor tools.
2) Quantum Computing powered Database Index Selection framework.
B-tree indexes play a crucial role in speeding up SQL queries in relational database management systems (RDBMS) by allowing databases to quickly locate rows without scanning entire tables. Traditionally, database administrators manually selected which columns to index, but modern RDBMS now feature automated Index Advisor tools that recommend efficient index configurations while staying within storage limits. However, these Index Advisor tools often settle for suboptimal index configurations due to their reliance on greedy heuristics, a limitation stemming from the computational hardness of
index selection.
In this talk, we will explore how to overcome this challenge by harnessing the computing power of quantum platforms.
