Thanks, and interesting you say that. At one point in the show, I tracked the announcers stand down and asked one of the narrators to please not speak when the warbirds were performing. I told him that people traveled from all over the country to hear the planes. He wasn't too cordial about it and told me it was his job.
@@WarbirdVideos I always try to get as far away from the speakers as possible. Still, it`s hard to avoid this unwanted backround noise, especially on big airshows. A shotgun microphone can help to a certain extend. Would be nice if the people in charge understood the whole warbird thing. Let the engines speak.
@PaddyPatrone Yeah, ditto here. In this case, I was on a large press platform that was about 15' high. Great for visuals, but the speakers were evenly spaced across the field, and of course, in front of me. You have a good shotgun and you're just hoping to yourself for the best, but really, you know that you're probably screwed. Where are you located?
@@WarbirdVideos Excellent filming of stunning machines, flown amazingly well. And it’s great to hear there are more people out there who hate the music/announcements! The organisers still don’t get it, do they? Say interesting stuff in between the displays, say nothing during them. Make THAT your job. It’s even worse at RC model air shows, wow, they waffle on like annoying local radio presenters…..
That's "Princess Elizabeth" and she is a P51C, at the time she was owned by Jim Beasley. The seat position is actually the same as the later Ds, but the canopy sure does make it look different !
Well.. The Brits didn't design and build the P-51 did they? And please don't forget that without America's MIGHT and commitment, the war would have turned out far differently.
Yes it is, it is Lee Lauderback doing a pass to allow The Horsemen to set up for the beginning of their routine. If you think back one minute you'll note he was lead for the three ship pass.
One of my favorite Mustang videos. I find myself coming back over and over. The audio is phenomenal.
Thanks!
This is a super video
Great video! Would have been even more awesome if the guy in charge of the speakers had decided to turn the music off. Oh those glorious merlins.
