One of my favourite clips of Peggy . The song seems to capture the warmth and compassion of her voice . So pleased to see this back on TH-cam . Thank you , Richard !
She's about age 50 here, still a beautiful lady with an outstandingly smooth and sultry voice! A long time favorite of mine and we have about the same range so I sing a quite a few of her songs in the same key!
I've been trying to find a version of this song (which I just remembered after forgetting it for 50+ years), and this is the strangest of all, but also kind of effective. I was watching The Roosevelts on PBS and it was used as part of the music, then I remember my sister singing it who had a coloratura soprano.
Instructions indicate not too slow and not too strict. And never mind that the first verse is from his point of view. "I'm going away, etc." Just saying. And why why why did they cut away from Johnny Cash? Frustrating.

Male. Prometo construir aquello que soñamos. Siempre estaré.
Beautiful performance by Peggy Lee. Is that Johnny Cash at the end?
