Ford, GM, Stellantis CAN'T SELL CARS! Lots Are PILING UP!

  • Right now, many of the dealers of the major auto makers like Ford GM, and Stellantis are sitting on over three months of inventory for their brand new on sold cars, which is way above the industry average. And these unsold new cars have a ripple effect on the economy, and also hurt the lower end used car sales as well.

Totally understand your concern about flying the jets, but I can help provide some clarity to these expenses. As an AF Vet (and now finance for DoD) I worked with pilots and coordinated flyovers for different events like NASCAR. That said, I’m not an expert and I don’t know everything, but pilots have to fly a certain number of hours monthly, and this money is typically budgeted five years out. It’s not like they are wasting new money. They use event opportunities to meet flying hour requirements to remain proficient and certified.

I'm not sure on Florida property tax laws, but I assume it is due to an appraisal cap imposed by the legislature. California and Texas have a similar system, where depending on the type of property, the taxable value can only increase by x% per year, but the market value can increase by however much the assessor wants. Once someone buys that property, all those exemptions and caps completely reset, and you're taxed on the market value, which can be hundreds of thousands of dollars in difference.

Yep I just bought a 2022 Cadillac XT5 SUV/crossover & it stopped dead on a dime on its own because it 'thought' I wouldn't brake for a car in front of me & I slammed into the steering wheel, almost had a heart attack. Needless to say, I had the 'driver assistance' mode deactivated the next day. Never again

I am casually shopping for a Toyota Camry LE. I have been looking for one since about 2020 to replace my 2012 Camry and they were impossible to get for a few years. The problem at Toyota is that they only have expensive cars at the dealer. No base model Corollas or Camrys. Just $40 - $60 K cars and it's clear that they're having trouble selling the high-end stuff and they don't want to sell the low-end stuff. They've been sending me offers for about five months and I'm just waiting for them to get models that I'm interested on the lot. So even Toyota is starting to crack. They were selling just about everything at a premium for 2 years. I think that it's called a Market Premium. I'm not interested in that. The nice thing about owning old Toyotas is that you're not ever under a lot of pressure to replace them - you can just keep fixing them up. BTW, this is a cool collaboration. I watch that car guy too.

The send me emails with "cars in the pipeline" and it sounds like it will arrive in a few weeks but I actually have no idea when they will arrive. I've told them over and over again that I'll just buy one from the lot. When they have the car I want in the lot, then I'll take a look at it and buy it. They know that I'm a cash buyer but I'm not going to order and wait.

Regarding the guy that overpaid recently for his house and then just let it go into foreclosure, I have zero sympathy. I’m sick of people that do this stupid crap. He knew good and well he was buying too much house, paying too much for it, and making a bad deal all around. But he felt entitled and needed that instant gratification, and it’s 100% his fault. I get sick of people that say it’s the bank's fault, it’s evil that they would finance somebody stupid but in the end, nobody had a gun to their head. So the result is the bank will lose money on the deal, and the losses will be passed along to decent people who use their head before they sign their name.

Jet pilots need to train and gain flight hours anyways.. At least if the US wants to have a strong Air Force. Which is of course an incredibly complicated question. And worth noting is that the US SELLS JET PLANES (and armament) to foreign countries (such as my country of Finland), so it's not just about spending.

The financial system has gone insane with completely unrealistic pricing and extreme avaraciousness. They can't have a financial and marketing system designed to suck as much value as possible out of the people and society while it depends on those very same people and society for its survival. At this point people's income and financial access must at least double, or the prices must at least fall to half, or the entire system crashes. Either supply a lot of money to people, cut prices a lot, or the finance-based system croaks.

This can't go on much longer than about a year or 2, and probably won't even make it that long. All hell will likely break loose shortly after the election next year.
