I totally feel you with the fear and terror in purchasing an expensive instrument. I bought my dream guitar two weeks ago and I was really on the fence. My girlfriend was actually the one who convinced me to get it. It totally is an investment and I always believed that things like musical instruments are worth spending more on because it will bring you continuous joy.
That was adorable. I can still remember the smell and feel of the Guild D40 I got when I was 17 (that’s 50 years ago). I played it in bands, solos, duos, and in my living room ever since, and I still do. Recently my kids gave me a Martin d28 modern for a retirement gift, and I cried. That feeling never goes away.
The trouble is, a new Taylor guitar is such a thing of beauty and perfection you die a little inside every time you leave a hand print or ding it or you sneeze on it or dust gathers under the bridge.
I got a 314 CE 2 months ago. I wanted the model you have so bad but the shop I went to had only the builders edition. It was about 5-$600 more and I didn’t want to spend that much more. Congrats on your Taylor! I’m enjoying mine so much!
I own seven Taylor guitars they are my favorite outta my collection,I have Martin too but there's something about Taylor guitars I absolutely love, Congratulations on your new Taylor you have the best money can buy.
Guys! Solid wood does not mean better quality exactly all the time. Layered solid woods made by Yairi and other Japanese make red are still just as good if not sometimes better. Anyway, I just bought this exact guitar but can’t play it :( so I’m watching you get excited! Congrats from the future!
Congrats! I own the same guitar. It really is incredible. Perfect for heavy strumming or fingerstyle. My favourite tone is either a Martin D18 or Gibson J45 but I needed something more comfortable than a dread. The 324ce V Class isn't too far off from those two iconic tone machines so that's why I chose it (or it chose me I should say). Plays and sounds like it should be on the dearer end of the guitar spectrum and while it is an 'expensive' guitar, it's the most affordable of Taylor's solid wood guitars. I sold a bunch of gear to raise the funds for it but no regrets whatsoever. Amazing instrument.
I’ve thought about getting the K24ce Builder’s Edition in the future (hopefully after first getting my BA lol)....but idk when that’ll be 😅 Edit: nvm, after seeing the price, I’m gonna go for the 814ce with the sunburst 😂
Hey so I just bought the 324ce and I was really torn between that one and the 314ce. I like them both but the 324ce definitely is more beautiful looking. Sound wise I was going back and forth. JuSt curious because you have had yours 2 years and me 1 month. Do you still love it and the sound? It’s definitely a more bass deeper richer sound. Not as loud and booming. At the 314 but did you consider the 314. Just curious. I love Sweetwater. Best guitar company with Alamo out there. They are just the kindest helpful people and never make a person feel stupid for lack of knowledge. Like you I almost cried when I got my 324. Thoughts? :) thanks
So nice I know that feeling when your guitar is in the box of course I have seven guitars all made left handed I have been singing and playing guitar over 46 years I'm a singer and guitarist I have two older daughters alot older than you sweetie and four grand kids my two daughters play guitar also one of them plays the bass
Happy to experience Your experience ... I tried the Taylor 324 and ended up with a Washburn wcg55ceo, MSRP $1865, at Sweetwater it's $1050, Same Fishman Presys, solid Koa top back and side, And to My Ear sounds better. You should try one soon You may switch. Troy from Atlantic City
Message number 2 sorry. Don’t ever settle for less over a few hundred dollars. Worse case Sweetwater or GC would finance it. I was able to get 4 years no interest on my 324 ce so I said oh yea because it’s like 55 a month and that’s better than forking up 2300 at once. So anyhow yes I even bought a GS mini Koa e plus prior to this 324 a year ago and love them both now. Life is short and you got that added check so you should never feel guilty about buying the better guitar regardless of the price. God luck. And let me know like my other post said on your thoughts.
Hope you bought the Taylor! I bought a Taylor Leo kotke jumbo body signature! ! It feels like it was made for me! A doctor put $1000 down for the tiny guitar shop and then after Obama ruined his business I walked in and knew they handled Taylor! And the guy tried to sell me a Martin D35 but it felt like I was holding a barstool leg! My Taylor is so loud when I play smaller clubs (100-150 people) you keep it at the right temperature, and buy a dehumidifier to put in the case to absorb any moisture (I live in Alamama and humidity is horrible! I’ve let 5 people play it and everyone of them wanted to buy it! ITS NOT FOR SALE! I’ve also got a hand made SL Mossman with Brazilian rosewood back and sides and a Sitka spruce top that was white as paper and super straight grain! And the top is now amber where the pitch in the grain has melted into the pulp of the spruce! And every one that’s played it tell me it has the thinnest heck they’ve ever played! Pith appraised for over $12,000,00 each! I’ve never sold a guitar and have 12 now! Keep your guitars for ever their sound will change over time! My Taylor is a 94 model and the miss made is a 74’
It varies alot from guitar to guitar. Mine has a much more pronounced grain and more/darker shading around the edges. Always get pictures of the one you'll be buying. Not stock photos
So now that you've had this guitar for nearly 7 months, what are your thoughts on it? Any regrets on model choice or anything like that, or is the guitar just as perfect as it was when you first got it?
Yea. I have four Martins. I also have some other brands too but so far no Taylors. Both good guitars. I just favor the tone of the Martin. Congrats. Hope you are enjoying your new guitar
Hello Liz. Our point was that we see what appears to be a very nice Martin guitar in the video before you receive your Taylor. We’re just noting that since you had an excellent guitar already, why the need for the Taylor... but at the same time we understand that a person can never have too many guitars. Later.
So much the drama. So much the cooties. > fiendish giggling But hey, she actually bought the damn thing! Congratulations on buying that oh, so pretty Taylor, Liz!
I’m probably going to get the same reaction when I buy my first guitar which is not going to happen i think 😞 because I have been asking my parents for so long. And they are saying no but I will still get one. I’m wearing headphones I wish you gave me a warning
oh gosh so sorry for no head phone warning. i was in the same boat for the longest time when it came to getting a guitar!! i played my best friends for years until i got my own
This is a heartwarming video, and you’re smart to have gone with Sweetwater rather than an in-store deal, because in my experience music retail clerks can sometimes be very off-putting, which is why I prefer Amazon and eBay and almost never go into a music store.

The woodgrain from previous versions of 324 looks nicer to me than the new sunburst.

it’s a recording king! not a martin :)
