- Would this be sports photography? I guess so. I took out the LUMIX S9 for some street photography and we ended up at a skate park. I really enjoy this camera but I think the star of the show was the tiny 32mm body cap lens. I really like the nostalgic images it creates.

Can’t say enough about father son quality time. Hobby in common and memories to last forever😁😁😁
Old skool film shooter here who tried the S9. Loved the images it produced but just couldn't reconcile the lack of a mechanical shutter clicking away and now viewfinder. Must be an age thing, I'm sure the mobile phone shooters love it.

😮 thats very diffucult to read this
I can barely use the camera on my Samsung S24, let alone a fancy camera like that
Question: when you are shooting in conditions like these do you use a lot of presets or do you manually choose most of your aperture, exposure, etc.? Also, any recommendations for a decent camera under $500? I had a larger Sony Powers hit byt the stabilization sensor gave out last shoot. Thanks!

I’m pretty much all manual in situations like this. Too much variation between each shot and too much movement for program auto. I don’t shy away from letting the camera do what it’s supposed to do in other situations though. I think M4/3 cameras are underrated and there’s several options in that price range. You can get a refurbished LUMIX G85 or GX85, or an Olympus E-PL2 is super budget. An OM-D E-M10 is fantastic as well. The G lenses are dirt cheap so that helps. The Canon Rebel series always seem to be what I see in the beginner category for camera choices but the LUMIX and Olympus cameras have a lot more pro features at the same price.
@@moremaass Thanks! I'll check those out!
My favorite smaller point and shoot or manual camera was a Panasonic lumix several years ago. Loved the ease of use and amazing pictures. Age and mobility have drastically impacted my camera usage.
My first “real” camera was the LUMIX G7
