Well, I hate to give anything away (the edit says it all) but King and Peat's relationship didn't go any of the ways I thought. There's no sharper knife than the one named Betrayal.
I own Next to nothing, I do have a century old cast iron skillet I use for lots of my cooking, but not much else. All rights and privileges belong solely to the owners. The images are from season 2 of Love Area the season episodes
1 - 6. The song DO is by Son Lux which I've selected just the last 3 + minutes for the edit.
What's more effective, black and white or colour? Or is a combination?

I really liked the contrast of the colour frame with the black and white images. Haunting song, absolutely beautiful paired with lovely, tense clips. The black and white suits the mood of the song. Gorgeous edit. My new favourite from you.

Both edit and song work well together and your use of black-and-white images convey the right feeling. Colours combined beautifully to black and white, and the frame added a nice touch.

here's my editor question to you .... do you ever labor over an edit and it comes out just like you wanted, and you really love it and yet it performs poorly leaving you to wonder (????!?!?!?!?!?!???) Perhaps it is a silly question, but personal things worry me more than any other choices I make.

@@llamarall yeah, there are some edits I do that I just love and they don't seem to get good feedback or views .... but I have to remember I edit first for me, I will learn to be happy with any result. It's just sometimes frustrating.

@@2HimBlazeBL4LIFE As you said, The main point is we must not forget that we make these videos basically for ourselves, and we are the ones who are supposed to watch and enjoy them the most.
Nevertheless, feedback greatly impacts how we feel about the video, especially if we have had a lot of good views for a while and suddenly have a drop in views. The point is that once our brain has adapted to the reward cycle of gaining views, it becomes more difficult to get back to the point where we are only able to edit for ourselves as we did at the beginning, especially since we are not able to earn money from the time we spend for editing and maybe we start to think our work is useless. And the strange thing is that we used to be happy with the addition of ten subscribers in the beginning, but now thousands of subscribers will not satisfy us. So what should we do? I will tell you about my experiences that have worked for me:
First, we need to know that if the views increase or decrease, it's not solely because of our editing. The TH-cam algorithm plays a major role in this process. Also, rather than looking at the views and likes just as numbers, like for 50 likes, start to imagine these as 50 people in a room, then the number will gain an identity, and its value will rise for us.
Another way I just found is to break this cycle of rewards from view and likes in my brain is starting to post on Twitter. where if you post a short video, you'll receive notifications for every like and retweet, and even if only 10 people like and retweet you, your brain will be deceived, giving you a feeling of satisfaction, and that refreshes your mind for coming back here for making edits with more enthusiasm and without fretting.
Sometimes we see people quitting editing all at once with 100K subscribers. One reason I think is that they put the number of their views on how they feel about their editing. I always tell myself I should not go their way, I must not forget that editing is an art, an expression of emotions, and a way to exercise my mind. In the end, I am the only one who will enjoy making and then watching this edit 100 times, since no one else will use this particular song for editing this specific series, so if I do not make it, I won't have it.
One thing that keeps me from getting discouraged is watching great videos with a small audience, and I tell myself that if such a talented person is not disappointed, then I should not be disappointed either. Additionally, applying new techniques to my edits and learning more, gives me a new taste and makes me crave to keep editing.
PS, the growth of your subscribers is so fast that I stopped congratulating in every K because I had to say congratulations every day. :D so I kept my congratulations to you for 10K later. The reason for increasing your subscribers is because every single of these people liked your work at least at one point and they know there will surely be some other edit of you that matches their taste in the future as well. So please don't forget this.
Sorry, I talked so much. This has been/is/will be my inner struggle as well, and I wanted to share my experiences and thoughts in this field with you, in the hope that they may be useful to you as well.❤
