Chance is right. ATM the market is so saturated that even popular TH-camrs coming to Twitch can barely get 300 viewers. But as long as you start for fun fucking do it. And I agree 100%, I can't stand assholes that try to jump on Chance and other streamers dick for more viewers. Do your own thing, build your own shit.

malenko123 yeah I guess, It is awesome hes starting to get more though when he streams Wildstar. He has been at the same subscribers for like 2-3 years now though lol. Since he doesnt play WoW hes kinda stalemate.
How to get popular in the streaming world you could either:

That pretty much sums it up...But there is another option...Be a complete idiot / noob when playing...They hate someone with skills higher then theirs.

This is probably the most amount of give-back Chance has ever done, and no matter how much you lol and troll about it, this is probably the most useful advice from a streamer. Sounds sincere and honest, (100% Scripted?) people should take a note of it if you are trying to stream.

Well I've now been ran off that site. The "Threats" and very hostile treatment I was getting there has shown me that, that site is NOT friendly towards others.

I have been streaming for about 6 months. I got the Upload, I got the PC, But im not the most interesting, which is the biggest part. After 6 months i have 60 followers and not even 2000 viewers. But it's fun, so i'll keep trying, and maybe one day i'll get better :D

it sucks because there are so many good streamers out there, that will never have the chance. I like smaller streams because you actually get to talk to the streamer rather then spamming hitler faces n kappas. But every once n a while i do enjoy a good hitler face

I started streaming a month ago, I do it for fun absolutely. The other day, I got my first 2 followers and it felt awesome that somebody would just click that button beucase they wanted to follow my adventures and they enjoyed it. It felt amazing.

Chance, the information provided was very well thought out, and true. The biggest point that you made is the fact of streaming for fun. If the true intention is to go into streaming so the individual can quit their job, make money, and sit on their ass. That will show... it will show in how you talk with people, and the overall experience you provide to the audience. If one is there to just have a good ass time and enjoy the moment, those are the ones who will make it to the top because the audience will see that, acknowledge that, and reward you with donations/subs ect. to keep the stream going. I wouldn't mind seeing an updated vlog to this describing your thoughts streaming in comparison from this video to the present moment. All in all good stuff!

Your right, best to get the stream going any way you can and stay motivated on it, even if your PC ain't the fastest! People will know you want to succeed real bad and know your trying real hard and have the potential to do better if you had the better/faster equipment just to keep your series going! That, my friend, is one of the main reasons donations come in, and it's usually gonna be in the amount needed for a far better PC setup, mic/mic headset, and software as is!!!!!

GPnRI Not true. I am social and friendly, very social for that. I even stream with 1 MBPS upload on like 540p quality, without facecam, been streaming for 2 days, got 17 followers. You have to have a personality, and do it for fun, and talk ALL THE TIME even if no one is watching.

I think I will give streaming a try. I have some ideas on what I could do. The only problem is my internet connection I guess, I'll get better upload speed once I move away from home though.

You think below 5mb upload is bad? Fuu... dont ever come to UK. Most places in UK (exception of fibre optic areas) we get 0.7mb upload speed max.. Its frustrating as hell.

Thanks Chance for the upload! Hopefully i can take this information and actually apply it! I've been streaming for a while, and i must say its the most fun I have had in a while. Even though my most viewers was 8! It still makes me feel like someone who can possibly make a difference and possibly put a smile on someones face. ik this sounds stupid to most people, but honestly that is just the person i am, i love to make other people happy.
I just randomly (kinda) blew the fuck up, on my first stream today about 26 random viewers came in and stayed there for the whole stream. I really tried to interact with them, and I guess I did good. I got a lot of follows thought out the night about 37. My average viewing base was like 20+

Today I done the probably biggest stream ever done and I enjoyed it! I got 7 people watching me how I did milk challenge, It was illegal but I COUDN'T stop myself drinking milk and then throwing up on stream. AAAAnd I also got a reward for it!

Yep, I'll just preview, look at chat, screen region a few things, pull up music, keep Skype/TS on, and monitor the technical aspect of everything going on in my computer so I know fully well what goes wrong, if anything, as well as hold my notification software, on my phone.
A second screen is extremely helpful.

i've been streaming for just about 2 months now, and i really love it... i dont have a lot of viewers i dont have a lot of follows but that doesn't bother me, i care about community i just enjoy talking when playing games, i love the communication you can have with others just by simple playing mmo,rpg, jrpg and even multilayer shooters. it's amazing how many awesome people you meet on the way ^_^

Here's one more tip. Try to stream games that dosent have so many viewers, it helps because if there's one guy streaming above you with 40 viewers, then when he goes off what happends to those 40 viewers? they're going to your twitch page, Try to think that way, make sure that they follows you, so you can swap games so they know where you are!

I get what Chance is saying and I agree. Me personally I just wanna be able to pay my bills just so I have all day to stream instead of working a full time job and coming home to streaming. If I can live on it im fine and im pretty sure its the same for most others. Of course I wanna be successful and make it big but first thing is first. I WANT to stream or make videos for fun but I cant if I have to work 8 hours a day just too feed myself. That's my take.

You had me right from the start. I'm primarily a youtuber and went on Twitch for my subscribers so I could interact with them live. Using one monitor is RIDICULOUS! I built my setup for youtube, not twitch and there is no truer advice than to get two monitors!! Trying to juggle everything on one 21" display was nuts. Thanks for making this video after a long day!

***** I dont recommend currently streaming at 1080p60 because it will look worse than 720p60, also make sure your computer can handle it.
don't do 1080 60fps as some viewers can't watch it. Either 1080p with lower framerate, or 720p 60fps
If you are not a twitch partner, downscale your stream to 1280x720 and put your upload bitrate to ~2000.
Having a high upload rate is important but currently, you cannot implement it into your stream.

There is only one rule Chance. You have to have a personality for it. All the other requirements are technical or can be bought. You can't fake a new personality or people will spot it sooner or later.

was a sunday afternoon, hungover as fuck and got twitch on my xbox. barely gave the site a chance before but was interested in DayZ so wanted to check it out and see a guy named LIRIK with 5,000 viewers (at the time) and he happened to be doing a 24 hour stream.
Im glad i checked it out because i ended up watching it for the rest of the day just laughing my ass off. and i swear bout a month or 2 later he just blew upp. so one day you may just get that "break" you need. like what soda said, keep being creative, stay consistent with your stream and do it for fun!
if you dont have 2 monitors another option is to get a tablet or something access your stream on it via the twitch app (assuming you are streaming on twitch) this will bring up your chat and also it will show how your stream looks to the viewers so you can fix any lag or freezes or even sound issues

My regular schedule is 60hr work weeks right now. I'm not complaining, I make above average money for where I live. I'm trying to become a streamer to complain about streaming for 11hr's like chance. I'm tired of 5/12's I'm tired of fixing other peoples mistakes, I'm ready to be a streamer, so here it goes wish me luck, from the heavy industrial workforce to streaming.. maybe I'll make enough to quit my job? entertainment is the new way to make good money. wish me luck, stay good chance.
Another tip would be either you get lucky enough to start streaming a game that is unknown and gains success, which gives you success or stream a new game or beta and gain a following around that.
I could stream: 105 mb/s download speed and 100 mb/s upload speed.
PC specs: 8GB Ram and Gigabyte GTX 560 graphics card, i5-3350p CPU.
Oh and i`m from Latvia. Latvia is in 4th place after the world's fastest Internet speed.

I've been streaming since Halloween of 2014 and I have 2.5K follows. I don't have a sub button but interacting with people and knowing you're making them happy is what its about. Don't worry about the sub button and high goals. Just play for fun and know you are making a difference to at least one person that is watching you. You are making someone happy. Thats enough for me and I love doing what I do. Its not always about you, its about what the viewers want. Always remember that.

There's some guy on twitch named Twpz that literally 100% tries to be you. And I don't mean that in a facetious way either. His entire stream is almost like watching a shittier version of your streams. Thing is he gets away with it because it's a different community and he thinks no one will notice.

i love to become a full time streamer and do that for a living but the only thing thats holding me back is i have to watch my mom 24/7 because she has a brain tumor and the radiation from it now slowing her down and making her weak so now i have to watch her just to be sure shes ok and help her out a lot its very stressful and i dont got the time to relax and stream for fun and entertainment but all of what im going through is really slowing me down :(
