The test requires a very close attention to detail, especially when adding relations. A value that is off by less than 1% may be acceptable, but the most common cause of the mass being wrong is a sketch or feature definition issue. Review your approach, perhaps try again, or work with a colleague to diagnose the issue. Good luck!
You will need access to a license to take the exam. Often you can get free access through a school, or check out the low-cost options for Maker's and Students available online: www.solidworks.com/solution/solidworks-makers
I’m having issue with the hole wizard. I follow everything what the example had given me but the hole wizard circle size is very small. Any suggestions on how I can fix that?
Check the hole size in the dialog and the units in your model and in the hole wizard. Your part or the holes might be the wrong units, making the relative size look completely wrong.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! However, I'm having an issue with the mass evaluation. I'm getting a mass of 14459.02 grams. Granted, I'm using the 2022 version of Solidworks, but that feels like a large discrepancy. I've triple checked all dimensions and can't find the issue. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
This is a relatively common thing to experience when taking this test. The models and the dimensions are very specific but can be easy to misinterpret slightly in areas like fillets, tangencies, or feature intersections. Often it is as simple as dimensioning to the center of an edge of a cylinder, but if the cylinder edge is broken slightly the center of the edge is not the true center of the cylinder. This will create these kinds of discrepancies, where dimensioning to the temporary axis or the original sketch might could fix the issue. Carefully review all of your features, how they are defined, and what they are defined against, and make sure details like fillets match up to the given design. The questions build on each other, and the multiple choice questions are an excellent guide to tell you if you've made a mistake that would invalidate your results for all following questions.
Thank you for the response, I'm going to try and remodel the part in a different file and keep the dimensioning relative to the sketch rather than the 3D features. @@MLCCADSystems
Refer to the certification page for the test you want to take for full details, but it is usually listed as "Note: SOLIDWORKS 2015 or later is required to take the exam" since that is the release they build the testing files with.
all i can find is this sample paper on internet. What shall i do if i want to practice different model ? (it is not like that this will be asked for the exam)
Unfortunately there is no way to really prepare for the exam directly. The exam is designed to test you for proficiency using SOLIDWORKS and that proficiency generally only comes from spending time using the program. The purpose of these videos is to help you understand what approaches a professional recommends and illustrate the types of challenges you are likely to face.
@@MLCCADSystems i am able to make a lot of models from scratch but when i am cross checking with these questions my mass properties are always varying( lets just say i am getting variation of 0.25-0.5g). So is there any suggestion to improve ? (BTW thank you for replying!)
Success on these certification exams requires a lot of attention to detail, including some details that are easy to overlook or misinterpret. Look carefully at each dimension, especially fillets, to make sure they are accurately reflected in your finished part. If your mass properties are not identical to one of the multiple-choice options, that is your indication that you have missed some detail. Building features that accurately capture the full design intent can be difficult to do, so a suggestion to improve is to quickly review the questions that are coming up later in the exam before you fully build each model. Reviewing the changes you'll need to make in the subsequent questions will help you to build more robust features.
Thank you so much! I am going to attempt my cswp in a few days.
how did it go?
Thank you very much. Having my exam in a months time.
Good luck!
I did complete this part but my mass properties are 4 grams less so what can I do to solve this problem

I don't have a licensed software, then how Can i take the Exam...???

Does this exam can be taken with pirated software...?
Please do not pirate software
sw is successful precisely because it's pirated and lots of people have learned to use it for themselves by using videos like yours.
