This reminds me of the video where there was a Halloween prank set up where someone was being interviewed, and a person in a mask jumps out of the trash can next to him to scare him. Instead of jumping back or running, the man's quick reflexes went to punching the prankster, and the prankster just fell back into the trash can. The lid fell back down and everything.

You know, now I'm curious about the kind of drills and security codes other people's schools had, cause my code blue never had us under desks. For us, code blue was essentially just staying in our seats and staying calm while the door was locked and usually class continued, iirc; I think it was for minor concerns like suspicious persons in the county or weather alerts. Code red, on the other hand, was the "dangerous person in the building" level alert and for those we locked the doors, turned off the lights, and had to stay quiet and as far away from the doors and windows as possible. This was in the early 2000s, ftr. What were your experiences with these kind of drills in high school?

It's only a medical emergency alert in a hospital. In schools it was generally a school shooting alert.
