Ma'am, for the 'advanced' example you gave at 19:33 won't the smallest Multiple for 24 be 2x2x3x2? I understand that you did it so as to complete the pattern or puzzle, but what if a student tries to solve such type of puzzle in an exam? He/she would not know it is this type of question until told to him. Can you give some advice for such questions? Please help, i am an 8th grader and have my exam on Wednesday. It would be nice if you could answer before that
+Rida Eman Yes we have used that to understand the pattern of puzzle. This develops by practice and intuition. Once you practice you get an idea about what kind of pattern can be applied to the question.
in the ntse exam, first sud we solve the paper and mark the answers in the ors directly or mark it in question paper and then at the end mark them on the ors???????
+vishva bhate You can do the either way, it totally depends on you how you want to proceed. The only thing that you need to keep in mind is if you mark answers in the ORS sheet at the end, make sure you have ample time left and you don't run out of time. Make sure that you don't only solve the questions but also mark in the OMR sheet.
Our comprehensive material includes practice sets with detailed answers and explanations on all teh topics - www.examrace.com/Study-Material/Aptitude/Aptitude-FlexiPrep-Program/Postal-Courses/Examrace-Aptitude-Series.htm
The explanation goes as: 1 x 15 - 0 x 0 = 15, 2 x 15 - 1 x 1 = 29, 4 x 15 - 2 x 2 = 56, 8 x 15 - 3 x 4 = 108, 16 x 15 - 4 x 8 = 208, 32 x 15 - 5 x 16 = 400, 64 x 15 - 6 x 32 = 768
+piyush tate It is a composite alternating series. It is composite as it uses multiplication and addition/subtraction. The series goes as 8x2+2, 18x2-2, 34x2+2, 70x2-2 and so on.
the answer in the blank will be 30 16*1\2= 8 8*3\2=12 12*5\2=30 30*7\2=105 thus every time answer will be multiplied with the next odd number and will be divided by 2.
+ABBY BAILEY This does not look like a complete series, however with this limited data one possibility is - 23+1 x 1/3 = 8 8+1 x 2/3 = 6 So, 6+1 x 3/3 = 7 So the next number should be 7.
+Salim Malik Everytime one extra digit is added and numbers are reversed. The extra digit is added at seemingly random location. For example, if we look at 423 is reversed as 324 and 7 (extra digit) is added. So looking at 387924, 9 must have been added (highest number), so the number before it will be reverse of 38724 that is 42783. Hence 42783 should be the answer.
Thanks mam.....
I cracked UGC NET Exam Jan 2017

+piyush tate It is a composite alternating series. It is composite as it uses multiplication and addition/subtraction. The series goes as 8x2+2, 18x2-2, 34x2+2, 70x2-2 and so on.

how to solve
16, 8, 12, _?_ , 105.
please help fast ma'am.
the answer in the blank will be 30
16*1\2= 8
8*3\2=12
12*5\2=30
30*7\2=105
thus every time answer will be multiplied with the next odd number and will be divided by 2.
What is the next number in the series 6,10,27,52,153?
+arun kumar We can solve this as follows:
6x2-2=10
10x3-3=27
27x2-2=52
52x3-3=153
Next term=153x2-2=304
what is taylor series of lnx at a=2.
We will cover taylor series in separate video lesson.
can you help me please 23,8,6,_____what is the next number and can you show me a working please
+ABBY BAILEY This does not look like a complete series, however with this limited data one possibility is -
23+1 x 1/3 = 8
8+1 x 2/3 = 6
So, 6+1 x 3/3 = 7
So the next number should be 7.
ok thanks very much
can you plzz solve this 387924----------------3724, 423, 32, 2
+Salim Malik Everytime one extra digit is added and numbers are reversed. The extra digit is added at seemingly random location. For example, if we look at 423 is reversed as 324 and 7 (extra digit) is added. So looking at 387924, 9 must have been added (highest number), so the number before it will be reverse of 38724 that is 42783. Hence 42783 should be the answer.
thank you mam

+vishnuvardhan kdpk Answer will be 63. All the numbers 53, 73 and 83 are prime number however 63 is divisible by 3.
+Examrace thank you soo much mam.,,,,u really grt
why (53+10=63)(63+10=73)(73+10=83)then (83+10=93)
this is possible or not
+Mahesh Mahe The question is asking about odd number from the series and not the next missing number.
