It is about portraying your feelings
are bcz it's a story telling rap, story telling rap is intentionally kept little simple bcz too much technicality will ruin the emotion, bcz hero of the those tracks is emotion. It's not a flex rap.
eg, stan song of em is a storytelling story so its less complicated than his other song like way I am or rock bottom., rhymes are not that crazy and not that many references, wordplays or homophones and flow switches. Bcz story telling is more focused on coveying the story not flexing the skills.
