    The only wedding I've been to where all the bridesmaids looked great they wore a rich Ruby. They ranged from redhead to deep brown.

    My husband is an autumn and I’m a winter so for our wedding we had navy, blue and white as our colors. He looked great in a navy suit with a lighter blue top and white as only an accent color. Also I have a watermelon dress and jacket and never understood why it looked good on me.

    You just named my four best colors. I have been told several times that the watermelon (coral) is my color. I feel most confident in navy or purple. However, I think I am most likely a soft summer. My skin tone is pink leaning to red, with light gold freckles, Dark blonde, light blue-grey eyes with a hint of yellow green around the pupil and I sunburn in 0-20 seconds flat. Hats, sunblock and coverups / shade are my best summer friends!

    For anyone saying navy is too deep, not all navy is the same and if you wear it as a bottom, it shouldn’t be as stark, provided you wear it with one of your colors of similar value to reduce intensity.

    Back in 1983...they included a maroon. When my BFF got married, she's a very pale green-grey eyed winter, the maid was her sister is an autumn, another girl who's a lighter spring and me. We choose that rather than teal. So, it's now watermelon?

    Idk, what you labeled Watermelon looked more Coral (red orange)to me. I think of Watermelon as a soft or light true red. Teal & Aqua are pretty flattering to most people, as is purple. Navy? Really depends. Some shades of Navy are pretty grey or so dark it looks black. If Navy is close to Cobalt I can wear it but generally blues that lean greeen (like teal, turquoise, aqua) look better. I noticed the intensity of the colors you showed was med high & the value was pretty med. The purple looked more red violet than true purple to me but that is objective I guess & my monitor may be skewing the colors a bit :) I know in photos my tops always look different than they actually are IRL. In artschool we were discouraged from using fashion terminology for colors & now I know why. Everyone probably has a specific idea about what color watermelon, teal & purple is :D But yeah, I agree that those colors (whatever you call them) are flattering to the most people.

    I remember hearing that periwinkle was also a universal colour. The bridesmaids of a friend of mine wore that, because they were all of different seasons. This was back in the late 80s. Is it still considered a universal colour? Hard to find, though!

    Like your content in general, but navy? Immediately i am like... Noooooo! I am a bright spring with tendencies of bright winter. I look miserable in navy, miserable. It wears me down and ages me 10 years+. Tried and failed over and over overal again. Might as we just say blue if we are arguing the case for jeans.

    • @ColorClassInc
      @ColorClassInc  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      First of all thank you for enjoying the videos! As for navy, remember that the Four Seasons system, which is the only season we have taught so far, is more general than the 12 palette system which adds that second modifier, bright, warm, light - so in the palettes there will be lots of colors you love and possibly a couple which you don’t care for. I’m a summer and I loathe baby pink, but my then my skin tone is not cool. Again, thank you much and we look forward to hearing from you again- Lucinda

      You are not the first person to say this, even in these comments I believe. So my professional advice is to leave navy to winters and anyone else who looks great in it haha. What is your best go-to neutral?

    • @TheBaumcm
      @TheBaumcm 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just because the color would look good with all of your colors does not mean it will resonate with you and your skin. If you want navy, you could pair it on the bottom and it shouldn’t make you feel so dreadful.

    • @ColorClassInc
      @ColorClassInc  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Turquoise and teal may be used synonymously but if we wanted to be all color picky- turquoise is teal mixed with a little white and just a hint of yellow. Sorry- the painter in me just pops out from time to time😀

    • @TheBaumcm
      @TheBaumcm 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Soft summer bridges autumn and summer so warmer colors, like watermelon should be in your palette (deep, soft winter) as long as it is not screaming bright. If you are that cool that you cannot pull off a slightly warm pink (as in with a touch of yellow added), you might not actually be a soft summer.

    • @karengrohs4942
      @karengrohs4942 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TheBaumcm Maybe not - but I really can't wear any warm colors. I'm definitely cool and a summer without much contrast -- ash blonde hair, blue-gray eyes.
