    Boeing makes the SEXIEST planes in the world! The 777 is the most beautiful airframe, in my own opinion. I have always thought it was a great frame

    It has. But it is optional. Customers of Boeing select if their 737 is gonna be installed with winglets.

    It's a factory option. Some airlines don't need them, because their flights aren't cut out for them.

    I like this Boeing-737-800 very much to fly with RYANAIR from Germany to the Canary Islands. 25 years ago I flew to Tenerife in the old Boeing-727, but today the new models of Boeing-737 are able to fly this distances of more than 4500 km.

    The airline I work for is taking delivery of many of these. Perhaps even one of the few you saw here! As a mechanic, the Boeing products we have, which is all of them i think, have the highest availability of any of our fleet. If it were up to me, we would have nothing else. Especially the 737. Even the older -500's just never quit! But I can't wait to get my hands on the 787. I hope they get things worked out soon.

    "The same work every day" that sounds depressing. People might become very proficient, but it's that sort of routine that led to Friday and Monday cars so undesirable a generation ago. Still building more than one airliner per day is a very impressive accomplishment.

    Some airlines choose that option to increase the crosswind limit from 33 to 36 knots, others to allow for a faster rate of descent. I agree it's a little unconventional though.

    It seems like more than one airliner a day, but really it's several airliners being built simultaneously by separate teams over the span of a few days. It's nonlinear in that sense.

  • @StratMatt777

    I'm guessing that it is because the cost (and weight?) of the winglets is not beneficial for short range flights.
    Much like the 747-400 D (Domestic) operated by ANA on short range flights- no winglets.

    The 777 is more than twice the price of a 737 and designed for long flights. I see why the 737 is in far more demand but you can't beat a 777 for flying long distances.

  • @StratMatt777
    @StratMatt777 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Me too! I love the look of the 757.
    It's too bad that airlines happen to be businesses that are all about having the lowest seat-mile costs... I think the 737-800/900 killed the 757.
    Once you start stretching the fuselage the seat-mile costs drop, making every other aircraft financially obsolete... like the 777-300ER, which destroys everything else (even the 747).
    I'm going to start "757 Airlines" to preserve 757s.
    All flights will be international (like how Icelandair uses the 757).

  • @BoeingvsAirbus1578
    @BoeingvsAirbus1578 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't know why they didn't use the 757 as a continuation airframe for the 737 family... would be a much better product with far higher capacity. It's basically simple, just keep the 757 in production (fuselage and use that as the 737 fuselage. Slap some new wings and engines et onto it then voila, bye bye A320 - airlines want higher capacity, and the 757 is great for short haul.

      Boeing turns out the door of the Renton plant about 40 planes a month ! ! ! that is less than a day ! ! But you have to remember they are only "Assembled" in Renton...the parts are built all over and brought in for assembly...the fuseloge is built in Witchta Kansas and shipped in by rail...

    • @philwoods2255
      @philwoods2255 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Páll Viðar Hafsteinsson haha yah. they're assembled over a period of 10 days, it's just they have so many in the two lines that it makes it so that at least one airplane rolls out the doors each day.

  • @adamwillis6975
    @adamwillis6975 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Are you mad? The A320 family still dominate the worlds small airliners today. It overtook the 737 a long time ago.
    Boeing stopped making 757's years ago. The mid size jet is still dominated by 757's but they're a dying breed, and the only replacement remotely similar, is the A321. And with the new A32X models being built, don't be surprised if more airlines go for A319, 320 and A321's!!
