Love how the mob guy running the joint suddenly gets interested. "Take it"
"tough luck, kid."
@@biln2 I love how he emerges out of the shadows and then disappears back to them. Like some kind of trap door spider. Seen this film a 100 times.
Looking at an inflation calculator $3k in 1935 is about $61k in 2021
So when they score $500k at the end of the movie, that would be $10mil today
Will be $500k in 2023.
"take it. tough luck kid." -government
What an idiot a home cost 5000 I believe in 1935
I really love a great film like that.
Notice the winos on the steps when he chucks the bottle in the trash
Movie perfection
1:30 At the beginning of the original Magnificent Seven, Steve McQueen gets cleaned out in one roulette spin, just as Robert Redford did here.
I love this movie. Wink.
James Earl Jones Father. Same voice structure.
When he tosses the bottle in the trash can, the guy on the steps begins uncrossing his legs as the scene ends. I hope that's intentional.
1:06 Shady Tree!
Those cars... May only have 70 HP and weigh 3 tons but they're so classy.
Same, I've got a 1967 car but I'd love to eventually own something from the late 40's or mid 50's, or even interwar.
Super cool
Awesome 😄
👍👍
HELLZ YAH! :D
5:05 doesnt it look like a scene from Godfather?
How did the house cheat?
The guy slipped his hand under the edge of the table and pressed a magnet button.
Rick's croupier did the same thing in Casablanca.
I edit myself into movies and TV shows with green screen and was thinking about editing myself into this movie!!! Any movie suggestions would be great!!
Did you edit yourself in the movie "The Sting"? One suggestion would be the movie "No Country For Old Men"
@@1959blantz I was actually thinking about doing that one…. Thank you for the suggestion!!!
@@1959blantz And no I haven’t even heard of that movie
@@ifiwere984 If you never have seen "Old Country For Old Men" it's a must see. It's been called the best movie of the 21st century. It will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to the end.
Put yourself on the Orca
Everytime I see this show I am reminded of how Redford was hopelessly miscast in this role--the producers wanted another "buddy" movie with Newman to make lightning strike twice after Butch Cassidy. The Sting is a great movie but Redford can't play this role, especially in the first 40 minutes
I think I'd have to partially disagree, he doesn't fit in his role quite as comfortably as in Butch Cassidy, but Newman wasn't immediately the choice to play Gondorf, the script was written with Peter Boyle in mind, but Newman called and said he loved the script and wanted to play Gondorf.
i would only lay 500 down , no more no less
