  • In East Flatbush, a group called Kaisokah Moko Jumbies practice the delicate and rigorous art of stilt-walking in a local alley way. The young stilt-walkers in training learn about their cultural roots as they prepare to compete worldwide.

I'm 76 now and my stilts lean against the wall in my living room. I was one of only three women stilt walkers in the San Francisco Bay Area when I started. Bravo! to you!

I don't wanna start off negative, but I'm just bewildered that this page even had two cunoomonoos "dislike" it. Anyway...moving on...this was so well done, the two cats and the mom talking really hit it on the nail: POSITIVE. BRIC, I love you for producing this. And kids, keep doing your thing. It's not about this bringing in millions of dollars, but about growing to work together w/your brothers and sisters, which will help you become leaders in the near future in this VERY competitive world. When my daughter gets older (she's only 2yrs now), I'm giving her the chance to try this!

You are fantastic! I've been a stilt walker for 25 years and developed a lot of skills. Dancing, jumping, jigs, etc., but nothing like what you do. Keep it UP (!!). You are wonderful.
