    Wish I could like this over and over. On the west coast and wishing that the Feelies would make one more trip across the States.

    I saw them at Club 57 (later Irving Plaza) and I think the opening act was Mission of Burma. One of the best shows I ever attended. The Feelies are still great!

    1:40:45 Unintentionally(?) awesome garage punk recording! Thinking of driving 4 hours to see them at BSP Lounge in Kingston NY tomorrow eve.

    I wish they would play in southern California. They only seem to tour on the East Coast

    Very very tight band. Have seen these guys 1/2 dozen times in last 5 years and they’re always excellent. They really hit a groove. Great live band that BTW always manages to do a few covers of your favorite VU, Stooges, Modern Lovers favs.

    I remember almost getting thrown out for thrashing to this when they opened for REM in 1985 (they stole the show in my eyes) and damn you, time

      @photoleon01  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      "Damn you time", in this instance is appropriate. They opened for REM in '86 for a small portion of the Pageantry Tour. Great shows indeed.

      @@photoleon01 Very interesting. Maybe the Reckoning tour? Those REM tours in the 80's were legendary. I know the MInutemen opened for one tour.

      @@wlouisharris The Feelies opened for R.E.M. on the Pageantry Tour (10/27/86 - 11/09/86). They jumped on the tour as they were supporting "The Good Earth", first record since "Crazy Rhythms".
      The Minutemen supported the last half of R.E.M.'s North America- Leg of the Reconstruction Tour (11/23/85 - 12/13/85). Both tours saw the last vestige of R.E.M. as their former selves.
      Ironically I just got to see Mike Mills & Peter Buck play at Solid Sound as a part of Minus 5. Also on the bill this year were The Feelies. Both played a really tight set.

      Saw the Feelies open for REM on the Pageant tour as well. Felt Forum at MSG in NYC '86. The Feelies took it away for life as far as I was concerned. REM were practically done at that point, they were on the road for 5-6 years and it was not their best night.

    They are close to perfect here and what a shame/pity there isn't a record of this show without the noise form the audience. I saw them in 1986 and they are so much better here.

    This is a great show. One question: what song opens the electric set? There is a number before Deep Fascination. Thanks for posting this!

    • @photoleon01
      @photoleon01  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      A new tune, Flag Day, opened the electric set. Thanks for the heads up.
