Terrific footage, even if silent. I'm so glad you've released so many historical films. I think I've seen all the Rolling Stones ones you have, but I'm hoping there's more somewhere. The Guardian had this video in an article in 2012 but said their copyright expired, so I'm glad to see it. The woman at 3:40 dropping her wine glass is funny. I had to research what the Radio Luxembourg award was about and their reason for getting it. All I could find is a mention in Bill Wyman's book that they scored more points than the Beatles in a listener-voting Battle of the Bands program. (I don't know if that was something separate.) I don't know what the Getaway Trophy is, but it must be something humorous about getting away from fans? Thanks again.
priceless !! what could be more English than a putt down the ruddy ol' Thames . At 3:30 the famed battersea Power Station comes into view port side off the bow matey.... a little more than a decade later Pink Floyd would tether a 40 pink inflatable pig over it for the cover of "Animals" I passed this place on the train when I visited London. I thought It would be marvelous if the city fathers could have the pig restored as an icon of English Music and all it has given the world....Thank You for unearthing this footage.. gaudy looking award they give the boys (??) the winged messenger Mercury stuck on a 45 sized gold record.....must have been connected to music somehow ......Peace
