I think this was one of the first times an RPG outside of Squaresoft was beaten by a different company. Especially during Squaresoft peak. I am surprised this company did not make a sequel since it did so well world wide.
ZeroHyperGaming the problem is that this game costed too much and was launched right before the PS2. So all the hype went to the new system and this jewel was left unvalued
MISTA WULFY I'd rather have a remake. Not sure what else they could do with the story for other serial instalments, but I'd love to see the script (especially the English translation), graphics, and sound quality all improved in an updated re-release. Heck, the game could even be re-imagined with the same basic story and fight mechanics but with more depth. They had a lot of good stuff to work with, and I feel like it didn't reach its potential because of technical limitations of the time, as well as some harmful design conventions that have relaxed considerably since then.

From the moment I picked that game up I didn't put it down for what felt like a whole year. I can't believe Sony never released a prequel or sequel. I would love to see a petition be made to get them finally moving on it, however, they could completely ruin it.
Sonys biggest mistake was not continuing this series. It could have been there zelda there assasins creed its been so long and to this day people still speak of it. Lavits of course is a big factor. Even lloyed was an amazing character. But its got its own style and flair a great story. there could be a sequal there could be a prequal. But now itl be a true legend that will still remind us of sonys greatest acheivment. Its a game up there with any final fantasy Im happy i can say ive played it that is for sure.

Agreed. I switched to xbox after ps2 when sony declined a remake. There were a couple good RPGS but everything paled in comparison to tLoD. The rhythmic battle system was beautiful...
This game took me forever to beat. But it was one of the best video games I ever played. Full of plot twist and always had something really crazy happen. My favorite parts were all the dragon fights.
I don’t know if you gonna read this in 2021, but I just finished replaying this game for the first time in 10 years and version that I played doesn’t have post credits scene (or it could be emulator problem). This scene is essential for the ending and your video only one on youtube which consists it (at least only one from what I could’ve found) so thank you, because of it I was able to enjoy whole version.
Sony own personal property that's so legendary and has so many fans. What wasted potential Sony. Give us a sequel already. This and the Bloody Roar series are my favorite PS 1 games hands down

One of the best game PlayStation has. This game along with the Suikoden and FF series was so good back then. Beat it for like months when i was a kid. So fun to play with the additions. Funny story that i'd like to share is when i Discovered the Gold Dragoon at Disc 2 and played on the local PlayStation Gaming house, people who are playing still don't have the Gold Dragoon but they are on the Disc 3 & 4. They were amaze that on what they saw on my save file and they have repeated their save files, while i finished the game. Missed those times. *Stardust* if you all remember what it was.

Eminem1998ism It depends really on how long are you going to play the game. If you play for like 5-6 hours a day it would take a while, but even if you play continuously, if will take alot of time.
When I first tried this game as a kid I was too young and stupid to understand the addition system and didn't understand that each character could switch attacks and I finished the entire game with the characters starting additions. That last boss took an extra long time.
Um considering FF is a franchise and this isn't the cult fan base is impressive! I see ppl at comic cons dressed as all the characters we doing post covid !!

I'd played FF7 3 years back and loved the story, but LOD just knocks it out of the park. The immersion, story, characters, and the way almost everything affects your decisions is amazing. I made it to Disk 3, then let my cousin borrow the sets since I was starting classes soon..he ended up losing disk 3..I never got to finish the saga, but I plan on trying again. Man they don't make em like this anymore.

Loved this game. Took me forever to beat this boss. The characters I chose didn't die though, but having to revive them was a pain. Beat the game in one full day and didn't sleep at all. That's how good it was.

This would be a huge surprise if there was a new installement of this game, there's like 15 final fantasy and 8 call of's etc. What we need is a NEW franchise, something fresh, and this would be a good start. also i forgot how beautifull the ending song was
I finished this game last night again for the first time in at least 10 years. Loved it so much! I decided to go with a super fast team composition, so I went Dart, Haschel, Meru. With one speed increasing item each, that put them at 70, 80, and 90 speed. Combine that with the fact that I had all of their final additions at max level and the fight was much easier than I remember. And damn Perky Step is ridiculously overpowered. At lvl 5 it has 600% damage increase. This allows Meru to have comparable damage to Dart (with blazing dynamo at lvl 5) as well as 20 more speed. Haschel also has ridiculously high attacking stats (and Omni-Sweep lvl 5 is way more powerful than anything that Dart has), but suffers from poor defense and low HP. One thing that I learned in this playthrough was that several master additions cannot be countered. Blazing Dynamo, Omni-Sweep, and Bone Crush cannot be countered by enemies at all, which makes Haschel, Dart, and Kongol ridiculously easy to attack consistently with once you unlock their master additions.
Oh I wish they would let us have this on the PS4... I don’t have a PS3 anymore and can’t play this absolutely wonderful game. It is my favorite game of all time.

Haschel also has ridiculously high attacking stats (and Omni-Sweep lvl 5 is way more powerful than anything that Dart has), but suffers from poor defense and low HP.
One thing that I learned in this playthrough was that several master additions cannot be countered. Blazing Dynamo, Omni-Sweep, and Bone Crush cannot be countered by enemies at all, which makes Haschel, Dart, and Kongol ridiculously easy to attack consistently with once you unlock their master additions.

Oh I wish they would let us have this on the PS4... I don’t have a PS3 anymore and can’t play this absolutely wonderful game. It is my favorite game of all time.

I plain loved this game. Watching this video reminds me of old memories. But also reminds me of how bad were the voices. The videogame industry has improved quite a lot since then, but treasures like this are no longer being developed...
I always thought reaching the end of this game was an urban legend, you know something that you lied about to your friends when they asked did you beat it and you just came up with an elaborate ending off the top of your head. LMAO!

have you collected all 50 stardust? there is a super annoying boss that you can get to when you get all 50.
