I bought your book a couple of weeks ago. I’ve bought the inks, the fountain pen, new nibs for my dip pen, and swatching all my teas…! I’m having a lot of fun going through the exercises in the book, but I’m delighted to see you in action here on TH-cam! It gives me a better understanding of your spontaneity. Fantastic work, Bravo!! 🌹 Thank you for publishing the book too! 💐
i’m studying you for my art gcse and i have my final exam on wednesday. i need to do a piece of artwork inspired by you and i’m so scared because it looks amazing and i can’t do any of this to save my life omg
I saw you demonstrate a couple of years ago at patchings and bought your book as your art inspired me so much. I have done quite a few of my version and really enjoy the process so thank you.
So do you start with pencil then go to pens? Or is this all pen work? It's hard to tell from the video. Also, is the tea you use just any old regular tea? Or do you have a specific type you use (black, green, etc.)?
I alternate between inks and pencil work, the piece starts with pencil, you can see lines being manipulated with an eraser early in the video , then calligraphy ink to trace out elements of light and shadow that will be picked up when the tea is added, all inks are water soluble so their colour blends with the tea.

Ah thanks so much!
I love your artwork! :)
thank you
It is wonderful to see the whole process of your work
thanks
Bliss. You don't so much paint with your pen as stitch and gesture. That makes sense given your background. All manner of wonderful.
❤❤
