      True, but they have suppressed it like hell since what? Late 80's? So it's true value isn't showing because of the paper crap. You take an outfit that has say 100 ounces, they can sell 10,000 in paper gold, maybe more, who actually knows what they've got in their vault. When the economy completely breaks worldwide? I really don't see the rest of the world trusting the US government with the world currency again, do you? Besides we no longer make hardly anything. We get a lot of our military equipment and parts to fix them from China and other countries. AND THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ALLOWED TO HAPPEN, EVER! We are heavily compromised now. Gold and Oil were used to stabilize in the past, now there's nothing. Russia, China, and India are now Allies and anything one doesn't make? The other one does. Worst part of all? We depend heavily on all three for things we no longer make because the companies who used to be here went there, AND THEY HAVE BEEN TAKING US DOLLARS AND BUYING GOLD FOR THE LAST 10-15 YEARS. Nervous yet? If you aren't? You should be, we all should. And the last two presidents have paid 2/3 of the farmers in America to plow under their crops for the last 4 years. Why would our gov purposely create a food shortage? Enough said.

    I’m 24 and started stacking 4 years ago but took a break during the pandemic. Currently at around 50oz of silver then 1.8 oz of gold. I’ve been picking up the pace lately on silver. Also have about 300 pounds of scrap copper and couple hundred pounds of brass I been saving

    • @TheDistrict644

      I'd take half of that and buy gold for the long haul. Things are only going to get worst with govt spending. I think we are on borrowed time as it is.

    • @rockymarcianothe3rd135
      @rockymarcianothe3rd135 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nothing to correct you. Copper and brass is good here and may increase 4 fold. Au and ag will maintain its level but probably will not outperform. I prefer platinum here imo.

    • @loganthemachine7841

      Slow and steady, continuously! Im stacking copper also, just because i adore that metal.

    • @samy7013
      @samy7013 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Starting to accumulate precious metals in your twenties is a smart move, so congratulations. But now you need to get smart about what you’re accumulating. Focus on gold first, silver second (the latter is for speculation). Copper and brass, is a waste of time, space, and effort, so stop it now, just stop. As for gold and silver, if the dollar value of your silver is more than 20% of your total combined gold and silver pool, then you own too much silver. A range of 10%-20% of the dollar value of your precious metals pool in silver is about right. Gold should be your focus, so ignore the silver bugs, as they don’t understand history nor monetary metals. Silver stacking is a silly American obsession, an ignorant hangover of the 1933-1974 era when private gold ownership was effectively outlawed in the US. The more passionate a silver stacker is, the more you need to walk away from them. Silver is gold’s worthy junior partner and sidekick, but in the 2020s, its place is that of a small side holding purely for speculation. But the bedrock of your precious metals pool, now and forever, should and must be gold. Learn this lesson now, and you’ll thank me when you’re in your forties and beyond.
      PS: Before you go down that route, platinum and rhodium have never been monetary metals, since their melting points are so high that working them into coins or bars is rather impractical and expensive, and makes it difficult to benefit from their theoretical fungibility. They are precious metals, but in no way are they monetary metals.

      This recession is most likely the result of an external factor. For the first time in decades, the United States is losing its clout as a federal reserve currency. They don't have any more economies to use to control inflation, and less money is being spent on stock and oil trading than in the past. They all lend support to the idea that a new multilateral world order is in the works.

    It's really hard to say. Fundamentally speaking gold and silver should rise in price during a recession/ depression and all other periods of economic uncertainty etc... Is it a safe haven asset? Yes. Does it protect future buying power? Yes. Does it have a good track history? Yes. It does what it's designed to do. However the gold price is tied to the COMEX valuation. And they say what is the paper value is. They may just continue to keep pressing down the true value of Gold and silver for as long as they can, until they can't do it anymore. But one thing is for certain. I'm so glad that most of my portfolio right now is in physical gold and silver. But I'm also holding onto a good cash reserve. The deals are coming guys. If you were holding Gold 2.0 (Crypto) you have gotten POUNDED and it hasn't held up at all and it certainly is no store of value. Recession can help gold price, but high interest rates kill gold prices. Right now, an I bond pays 9% interest. Risk free. I have never paid over 1200 an ounce for gold and I'll sit on what I have. For short term trading purposes, I use paper gold. Silver will soon be down below $15, so that's what I'll be buying. I sold a lot of silver at almost $28 a couple of years ago and will be happy to buy it back soon.

    Gold has been undervalued for quite some time. It's been overshadowed by stocks and crypto. Both are in major decline. Cash isn't a particularly safe position either due to inflation and savings rates that are almost laughable. Bonds are failing too. Cue Gold, doing what it does best, sheltering wealth during uncertain times...

    To defeat inflation, the interest rate must be above the rate of inflation - a 0.75% interest rate hike is not a serious attempt to curtail inflation. In the early 1980's the interest rate went to double digits to defeat inflation. Unfortunately that is not possible today without driving the US into bankruptcy, due to our $30,000,000,000,000 national debt.

      some in equities, and the rest held as cash to invest in both gold and equities a little later on. Not
      sure what split would be good... maybe 25% in gold, 25% in beaten down stocks with good balance
      sheets, a decent dividend, and low debt, and the rest held for future buying opportunities. Of
      course, much depends on the finances of the person doing this but this split would work for me.

    Foreign currencies are keeping the dollar strong internationally, so we don't see much change in gold prices. If you're in almost any other currency, your gold price has appreciated rather seriously. If you're in Yen, gold has skyrocketed. Gold is more insurance than investment, and if it's cheap, you can buy more, so don't be in a hurry to see it go up.

One thing that many years of dealing with stocks has taught me is that you can't hit every BUY at the lowest mark just like you can't hit every SELL at the best price and jumping in buying several more coins at that price would have been rewarding BUT waiting for the next dips when gold drops even lower into the 1700's will be just as rewarding! • @sam805236
      @sam805236 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If buying just for the bullion, silver rounds, not coins or bars are good. It's the best for just stacking bullion. The Buffalo round imo is probably the best as the premium is lowest and the buyback is good if you need to flip it as it's a pretty popular round. American Silver Eagles are best if you're looking for coins, high premium but easiest coin to sell and you'll get back a good premium as well.
      When going for gold I would personally stick with the American Gold Eagle, again it's the most widely recognized and easiest to sell. High premiums but it's worth it. Stay away from the graded crap and anything comes in sealed slabs, too many fake crap over the years in those things and the premiums are way too high.
      On an aside note, personally I like the American Gold and Silver Eagles and believe they are the best to get as each has a resonance (ping) to them when you tap them. This makes spotting fakes easy and will bring you some comfort knowing you have the real deal when purchasing.
