This is a GreenWorks Pole Saw Review and operating how to. It also gives a how to re-install a jumped chain. I also review battery life and an honest opinion on pole saw.
My 24v Greenworks threw it's chain too; when my friend was using it when we were cutting a tree down in my backyard. I wasn't keeping an eye on him; so he must not have been continually checking the tension. But like you said; it's no big deal.
When I was looking for a polesaw;I looked specifically for a Greenworks; and specifically for a 24v one. My two overriding factors were price and weight. Like you; I was already very satisfied with my small Greenworks chainsaws; so for me; Greenworks was the obvious choice. I have since acquired an EGO polesaw; and I don't know why I kept it! The whole assembly is hugely heavy; compared to the 24v Greenworks. I don't know if there'll ever come a time when I need such a powerful polesaw; but I've got it; just in case 🙂
...one thing about the Greenworks 24v polesaw: it is very cheaply made! The aluminum tubes are not anodized; so they stick terribly when putting together; and especially trying to take it apart! You have to use the locking collar like a slide hammer to knock it apart! I suppose there's some magic spray to put on the tubes to make them a little slippery. I'll have to check.
I shopped Amazon for my Greenworks polesaw. I found a USED 24v one for 80.00. Couldn't tell it from brand new. Given that they make 24v chainsaws up to 12"; why do you need a 60v motor for a 10" polesaw?
@TOMWAP60 I didn't know it at the time; but I am SO glad I got the 24v! I couldn't believe how heavy the saw was at the end of the pole! (One of the things I HATE about being 70 years old! In my 30s and 40s; I could dead lift over 500lbs!) I have since bought the polesaw attachment for my EGO Multi Head tool; and it is noticeably heavier than my Greenworks.

I haven't had that problem yet with the 60v Greenworks, but I have only used it 2x. Thanks again for viewing and your comments.

I use it at my camp also. I have multiple tree stands and lots of trees. I also went 60 volt due to my weed eater already a 6o volt.

@@John-cj3ve By your experience I am glad I purchased a Greenworks. I am 64 and certainly do not have the strength I did when 55.
