Hands down you have to go with the 4Runner as it is basic, epic, durable (made in Japan) and exudes a manly confidence, followed by the Tundra (amazing comfort and space) and then the Taco (great first vehicle for a 17 year old to introduce him to the brand). Great vid, pal.
Thanks man! Though I’m Tundra, 4Runner then Taco... I think it’s safe to say you could go in any order based on your current family dynamic and living situation. 👌🏻
I’m between the Tundra or the 4Runner. I love how the Tundra feels but I like how the 4Runner looks. For road trips, I wonder what would be better, also I’ll use daily. Plus once a week I drive 150 miles for a weekend trip.
I’ve owned all three vehicles and would go for the Tundra if I only had to pick one! 2nd choice would be the 4Runner just because it has a bit more room than the Tacoma.
My last pick would be the Tacoma. Its not that I don't like it, I actually love tacomas but if I want a offroader ill get the 4runner and if I want a truck to haul and tow im getting the tundra or a diesel if needed lol.
Upgrade to bigger more aggressive tires on the 4runner! I don’t think he upgraded the tires on his army green. AlwYs upgraded the tundras land cruiser, fj, and tacoma. About time to give the runner some love! Throw some 275-70-17 ko2’s on there or if you can fit the 285-70-17 but either one would be way better.
Out of all the TRD Pros, the terra grapplers on the 4Runner bother me the least lol. They’re functional off road and look the part okay. I’d still like to put some KO2s on it but not in a hurry.
I actually like the Tacoma the best out of the 3. You can carry people relatively comfortably, have the truck utility, and off-road with the best of them. On top of that it’s still easy to park in the city. Best of all worlds
Nice horses in the stable!; great collection! I’m getting use to the full size Tundra I have. I traded in a rust thru framed FJ Cruiser with 150K. The plan was to keep it but the rust had other ideas. I had put an ICON suspension on it and it was super! One of the reasons I bought the PRO was the Fox suspension; didn’t want to spend valuable time upgrading it. Before the FJ I had a 97 Land Cruiser, and before that a 1990 4Runner that we absolutely loved! So my point being, I bought the Toyotas for their durability, toughness, dependability, and rugged good looks! Sounds like you agree!!!! BTW, first Toyota was a 1978 Celica ST; really wanted a 77 Celica GT Liftback but couldn’t find one; (oh the single life back then).
We are a Toyota family too: 2020 PRO GREEN 4 runner, 2017 lifted pro Tacoma, 2013 MR2 convertible( super fun to drive) and a 2018 LS 500. MS CE and wife has a MBA. We are ok with one truck...
Channel is awesome! I'd take any of your rigs in a heartbeat. Love it! I miss my '05 4Runner with the 4.7 (awesome engine) and I'm shopping now. With 3 kids, we considered TRD Pro Tundra, Sequoia or Tacoma, but I can't shake my attachment to the 4R. I have a Super White TRD Pro lined up that I plan to buy this weekend and our AWD Sienna will remain the family hauler...for now. For running boards I like the Go Rhino RB20s better than the Predator, but I've only seen them on your Tundra. The RSG's look amazing on your Taco also. Any reason you went Predator on the 4R? Keep the great videos coming!
I totally agree with you about the Tacoma! I had a 2019, just sold it for the 2021 4Runner pro in lunar rock! Main reason for me was comfort, backseat of the taco is so small! Lol! Love your setup
I had to make this decision. Went with 4Runner ORP. I LOVE KDSS and it’s not on TRD Pro. Also, I can buy a LOT of custom upgrades with savings over TRD Pro. Main reason I went with 4Runner over Tundra is where we live parking huge truck is a PITA & we don’t need THAT much interior space... boys are out of car seats. I do love that it’s made in Japan. Next Toyota will likely be Land Cruiser. Always wanted one. Have to admit I really love this 4Runner though.
My brother had a trd tacoma from 2017 to 2019 it was new when he got it and I loved it, my mom had a base 4Runner for a while. I personally like the trd 4Runner the most
You finally admitted the 4runner backseat is bigger than the Tacoma. Wooohooo. My fat ass wont fit in the back of the Tacoma, but I fit just fine in the 4runner.
I kno the 4 gen tacos will be out soon but I definitely will get the 3rd gen TRD 4x4 or TRD Pro with the manual transmission. Bent on the Army Green but ur Cement is making a pretty good case to reconsider
Would you go back to the tacoma after kids are out of Car seats? I just can't see any other vehicle even looking close to as nice as a trd pro tacoma. Being 5'7 and never needing to tow anything, I can't get behind a Tundra just for the backseat space. Hard choices haha.
Absolutely! I love the Tacoma... I agree with it looking the best too. Great body line throughout... the fact that it’s still a 4dr and manageable with kiddos is why I’m keeping ahold of it for now. If you don’t need the extra space -I wouldn’t even consider the Tundra.
Not that I would choose only one, but probably the Tundra. I feel like now the interiors are all about equal, but the Tundra has more towing/power, with about the same MPG as the Tacoma/4Runner.
Out of these 3, definitely get a 2024 4Runner before they change to the 4 cylinder hybrid in 2025. The Tacoma and Tundra are far too gone. If you need a truck, look at a Nissan Frontier.
Man untamed I watched quite a few of your videos. Your making it hard for me to trade my AG Pro 4runner in for a Pro tundra. I may be backing out in making that move. Decisions!!
I would choose the one you got rid of, the 200 series landcruiser haha. But out of those 3 I would choose the tundra but it all depends on what you do. My paid off 2014 tundra is a great family hauler and it’s mostly stock so the extra money goes to gas and it doesn’t bother me. Off-road the 4Runner wins, the taco is a last choice. One interesting fact is out of all 4wds Toyota makes the tundra has the highest ground clearance, more than the most off-road worthy “landcruiser”.
I would stick with the Tundra, with kids the more room the better. By the way do any of the Trd pros come with cooled or ventilated seats. I live in Texas and it is an option I would love to have.

That kid is so cute! Reminds me of the kid in monsters inc.

Ordered a manual transmission TRD pro taco
How do you afford all those vehicles?
What a collection! I see OR in there. That's awesome, do you go to any of the Cars and Coffee events in the PDX area? @untamedmotors
I’ve unfortunately since moved away from the PNW for work. Now out in WY.
What step bars are those on the voodoo blue 4 runner? Do they attach to the frame?
They are not frame mounted, these are Toyota’s Predator Tube Steps... not ideal for off roading.
This video came after me commenting on the last video 😂

QQ: why do you have 3 trd pros and what do you do for a living?
I discuss it at the end of my “pandemic pros” video. Check it out if you’d like.
Dude your neighbor is a Ford guy...you guys must get into epic fights (kidding). Anyway, I have a Tundra so my choice would be the 4Runner.
Haha he’s actually super cool. We both respect one another’s passion for trucks. =]
People complain about Tacoma lake of power an yet in a 0-60 Tundra only surpassed it by on car length.
What happened to the White 4Runner?
