    All is left now is a beautiful voice of the ghost bird …

    These birds sounded so beautiful. It’s sad that they are gone. People of that time really should have done much more to save them. Their voices were so cute and peaceful sounding. But let this be an example of how we can do and be better to love animals and birds.

      indeed. it's truly heartbreaking that these birds are, as we know it, extinct

      @darukineoThat wasn't natural. Animals are in danger, mostly because of some humans.

    • @Clava_Vodeanuc
      @Clava_Vodeanuc ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @darukineo Humans in tribes hunted for food yes, but the ones who came from civilisation overhunted and also took for a sport, trophys.

    • @Clava_Vodeanuc
      @Clava_Vodeanuc ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @darukineo Really? If "they do so" then felines will not beat the human record. And that bird was extinct because loose of habitat.

    • @Clava_Vodeanuc
      @Clava_Vodeanuc ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @darukineo It meant to happen because of their ignorance (people).

    Sad, also imagine all other species of birds that used to sing pretty songs that now have gone extinct. There was a whole family of species like this and I bet they all sounded nice too. It's a shame we can't save every species

      They have a very loud and distinctive song and have not been seen since the endling was recorded in 1987. Maybe Colossal or Revive & Restore can revive them, but I think that it may be impossible due to the lack of a living relative.

      @faithfulforhope Maybe, well they could’ve migrated to Ni’ihau, but they could be extinct 🤷‍♀️

    Not only this bird is the last of its species. It’s the last of its family tree meaning that there’s no way to recover this bird from extinction.

    Time is breaking us, our planet, and the species on it. Look at the beautiful painting of the bird. They are long gone; they came for a short time to live. Just like this, we also have limited time, so please get out of this material world of hate and cruelty, leave the proud feeling of I and My, and live with kindness, love, and peace.

    A part of me really does hope it's alive, somewhere where we least expect it to be. But for now, all we have is echoes of the past long forgotten memories.

  • @T2211D

    Such a peaceful song, but full of loneliness and emptiness. Calling out for another bird, like it’s trying to find another of his species, that doesn’t exist anymore. So sad yet so beautiful.

    I always think that there are more ‘ō’ōs out there and people aren’t just looking hard enough, now I know what people will say, they’ll say that they will know if they are alive if they hear their sound, but that’s not the case, I’m mean ‘ō’ōs aren’t stupid they can stay silent if they want to and their call isn’t even that loud and at it’s loudest it must be at mating season where they are loud but we don’t know when their mating season is, but I’m just saying that there may be a small population out there somewhere and I could be right cos the kaua’i ‘ō’ō is a VERY small bird and couldn’t be noticed, and their colour is sorta a black and brownish colour and those two colours can blend in very well, oh well

      People are too successful in conquering nature and not having a perspective of balance of nature and civilisation.
      I am just an ordinary observer.
      People just breed uncontrollably then build up everything and then destroy everything with wars or rust belts or Rome.
      Have you been to Rome?
      Miles and miles of buildings. Half of which are useless tourist attractions. Similarly in London and detroit.
