they play Machine Gun almost every night in Busan bars and it's always lit. Dok2's Rain Shower and ZionT/Kush/Mino's Machine Gun are the best parts of a night out in Busan. If you're ever here in Busan, look out for this in a club. it's lit af.

Mino was the runner up from the previous season of SMTM (in my opinion he is the real winner). and SMTM is basically main stream, underground, or idols rapper trying to trying to prove that thier the best.
Zion.T is like.. the definition of Class.
Fun FACT : YG WON for the first time (producers special)
Here's a little simplified synopsis of SMTM.
SMTM is a korean rap survival show where people in Korea (now it's open to LA too) audition to be the best rap star.
Contestants will be judged on their rapping skills through the first audition programme by a panel of judges called the 'Producer teams', and those who made it through the first round will go through a series of missions.
About 3 to 4 rounds of missions, the remaining contestants are then allowed to choose which producer team to work with. These producer teams will be their mentors, and are responsible in giving them good tracks to work on.
How do the contestants choose which producer team to work with? The answer is in this video. There will be a 'Producers' Special Stage', where basically the producers put up amazing performances to appeal to the contestants. Zion.T and Kush decided to collaborate with Mino (Winner's rapper), who was the runner up of SMTM4 to appeal to the contestants.
After votings, 16 rappers will then be divided into 4 teams according to their producers.
For SMTM5, the producer teams are
1) Team YG (This video) - Zion.T and Kush
2) Team Illionare
3) Team AOMG
4) Team Gil & Mad Clown
Teams will then continue to battle until one survivor remains and become the winner of SMTM. In SMTM5, the winner was BeWhy ^^

Here is what the show is done.
The first round is the general auditions including everyone from underground rappers, to mainstream rappers, to idol rappers, ex-rappers, newcomers and so on. This year had about 9,000 auditions. I believe only 83ish people passed from the judging of illionaire Team consisting of Dok2 and The Quiett, YG Team consisting of Kush and Zion.T, AOMG Team consisting of Gray and Simon D and Team Mad Clown and Gil.
The second round is the rappers showing what they have in 60 seconds. You can only pass if you are passed by a judge. whether it be all of, an All Pass, or just one team. This year, they also held auditions in LA, Flowsik who you watched, passed along with Killahgramz, Junoflo, Superbee and Miss LA although she replaced another contestant who ended not being able to go and Superbee is Korean-Korean. He was in LA during the time of the auditions and did it there.
Next, they held a Cypher for all the rappers from Korea and LA, something they've added since SMTM4 with Snoop Dogg. Then, it's the Producers stage to show what they got and sort of help guide the contestants to their team. From there, they do team selections. There is only four to a team. This year, it was very different. Both the contestant and the Producers had to choose each other. If you didn't get picked, you get dropped.
Next, it's the real battles. The first team battle is the song battle. All four have to write lyrics and perform it. Whoever does the worst gets sent home. The next is the diss battle which can get pretty brutal. The audience of 100 people decides who wins. The losing team has to eliminate one person before the first stage and one automatically gets a stage while the winning team has one solo and a duo which goes against the other team that won in the diss battle. From there, whoever loses gets sent home and there is six people left. 1 vs. 1, so a total of 3 battles. The remaining three goes to the semi-finals and whoever has the lowest amount of votes gets sent home and the two left battle it out at the finals for the win.

idk if anybody's explained it but I will anyway. So on smtm5, people audition with their accapella rap and judges go around and give them smtm necklaces if they're good. that means that they move onto the second round which is a solo 1-minute performance on a beat of their choice. This season, they went to LA as well and it was pretty much the same there. then they have the 1vs1 battle where contestants pair up and rap on a beat together and one gets picked in the end and the other is eliminated. the producers then have to have a performance to prove to the contestants that their team is the best. the contestants vote for which team did the best and that team gets an advantage. the contestants then choose which team they want to be in and the judges eliminate people if their team exceeds more than 4 contestants. they do some team building exercises and show the contestants the beat they have to rap on for the team battle. the team battle is basically all 4 contestants from each team doing a song together. at the end, the producers of that team have to eliminate one person from their team and when the song gets released, that person will not be on it. the teams then have to prepare for stages in front of the audience (my memory is failing me. I'm not sure about the lead up to this). there is some sort of competition and the teams are ranked. the two with the highest ranking get to have one person doing a solo performance and the other 2 doing a unit performance. they obviously compete with the corresponding team. the person who get the most votes wins in the solo performance and the other is eliminated. in case of the units, the unit with the least votes has to have 1 person eliminated and that's decided by the judges. moving on the the teams with the bottom 2 rankings, they have to have one person doing a solo performance and the other two performing on the same beat up until the minute they're about to go on stage when the producers decide which person will do better and they pick them. the other is automatically eliminated without exposure. it's just audience stages from that point on and solos. it goes on until you have the top 3 who battle in the final. also, I'm sure you've watched smtm3 and 4 performances. these are no different tbh. but since you're watching smtm5 stuff, you should watch team AOMG's I'm not who you think I am - 니가 알던 내가 아니야 (I think that's the english translation but if you copy and paste the korean, it'll come up). make sure to watch with subs! thanks for everything ~~
Zion T's performance was so perfect, over the perfect
I'm so hyped about this, SMTM5 was LIT!
It's kind of like a mix of the typical singing competitions like American Idol and The Voice. (I haven't actually watched SMTM5, but I watched the last 2 seasons and watch a good number of the clips of the tracks so the order/placement may be off). I also use producers/ judges interchangeably because they are both.
Episode 1: The auditions consist of where rows and rows of people are being judged by individual judges/producers (it'd be 8 producers judging thousands of people in a stadium in about 24ish hours). The contestant raps their verse with no track.
Episode 2: Basically with all the people that passed the auditions (maybe 100 or so, might be wrong) each contestant raps with a track in front of all 8 producers for ~1min (at least 1 team needs to let you pass in order to continue onto the next round).
Episode 3: Unlike the other seasons, there were also auditions (basically ep 1 and 2) in LA where people in LA can audition and if they passed and were able to travel to Korea, they did! Special judge included (Timbaland) (This is what you saw for the Flowsik audition)
Episode 4: 1:1 battle: Assuming there was an even number of people, rappers would choose one another to battle it out in front of the judges (before, there were cyphers in groups based on their rankings from ep 2 for all the rappers to see which person they would want to battle). Judges would pick who were the best between the two.
Episode 5: Producers for their respective teams/companies would have their own stage to appeal to the contestants (Basically what you see here is one of the teams, which is YG (Kush (YG: Black producer) and Zion.T (YG: Black sublabel)!! Other producer teams are Illionaire (Dok2, The Quiett), AOMG (Simon Dominic (rapper) and Gray (singer/producer god) and Mad Clown x Gil). Contestants would vote which had the best stage, and the winning team would have a higher advantage for choosing teams for the next round.
For the next round, contestants would decide which team they wanted to join, and if the producers matched them too, the contestant is safe. Producers had a certain amount of chances to match up with the contestant (based on the rankings of the last round), so they had to be careful of which rapper they wanted on their team. If the contestant doesn't match up with a team, then they would have to wait until the next round.
Episode 6: Second round of team formations where the leftover rappers who didn't match up choose which team they want to join and producers choose from that bunch. The teams chosen perform an original cypher (music by the producers) and are performed in front of the judges. The worst rapper/performer is eliminated.
Episode 7: The teams have 1:1 diss battles (2 teams are 1:1). The losing team must eliminate one of their rappers.
Episode 8: The teams begin live performances. Each teams perform 2 special tracks. Based off the diss battles, the winning teams have 1 rapper with a solo while the other two collab on a track. Each rapper is against each other accordingly (Winning group vs other winning group, etc.). The rapper with the most money wins while the other is eliminated. With the collab rappers, the losing group must have one of those rappers elminated, leaving 6 rappers left.
Episode 9: Semi-finals (live performances, same basic format as the last group), leaving 3 rappers for the finals.
Episode 10: Finals round 1: Each rapper performs; the rapper with the least points is eliminated. Round 2: Pretty explanatory. Someone wins.
And please react to Mino's song on Hip Hop Nation. It's a show where "grandmas" compete to see who's the best rapper while working with hip hop rappers and producers, and Mino collabed with one of the contestants on an episode where the theme was about family. All the other groups had sad or mellow songs while their song was dissing her daughter XD" (which is why it's called "Don't Call Me Mama). Still waiting for this to happen. .______.

As for the subtitles you'd have to check out 'Khiphop subs' on facebook. She uploads whole episodes so it'd require knowing what episode the song was in and searching it out in the episode... lyrics are important for this show but it's troublesome. But seriously if you get bored sometime and have nothing else to do, think about watching SMTM. There is a lot of good music.

There are 4 teams of producers and they perform a special stage to gain the rap contestants favor to their team; each producer team wants the strongest rappers. After they pick teams the teams all perform a song produced by their team(producers) with their own raps, and the weakest member gets eliminated until they get to the finals which are solo stages. This season its Team Aomg(Simon Dominic & Gray), Team YG(Zion T & Kush), Team Illionaire(Dok2 -pronounced dokee & The Quiet), and Team GilClown (Gil & Madclown).

to understand what is really going on in SMTM you should watch the full episodes. it will be easier. you can find them online and there are eng subs too and after that you can cut it in more videos.... but is just my opinion. :D

the producers performance gives the contestants the idea of which team they want to join. after the producers performance the remaining contestants will vote if which performance they love best. the winning producer team gets an advantage on the team selection. in the previous season the winning producer team had an advantage of picking members first, the chosen rapper has an option to either accept it or not. In season 5 they changed the team selection process & it's kinda difficult to explain lol. Team YG won, so they got the advantage. team AOMG (Simon Dominic & Gray) lost. too baaad
