Really like your videos and have become a fan... I'm a 69-year-old fly fisher that started when I was seven and recently picked up on tenkara an absolutely love it... Planning a spring summer fall overland tour fly fishing the country with a friend and I can guarantee over 50% will be with a tenkara in hand... Just hoping we can find a few spots along the way have as beautiful as we have seen in your videos! Great job young man, your laid back approach to filming these beautiful videos are appreciated...! Great job and stay safe, maybe we'll cross paths on a stream this summer...lol
You do an excellent job. Don't worry about the haters my friend, there will always be those that are jealous, or believe they are better. Just remember this there is no one that can be better at being you than yourself. You are a wonderful fishermen doing it the way you chose to do it. I have fished my whole life in many ways, from hand line, fly fishing, to spinner and bait cast. I have fished in multiple oceans and rivers all around the United States, but one of my greatest memories is fishing with a cane pole with my Pappa. You have made me want to try this type now, so keep it up.
Your videos are excellent. Catch and release with barbless hooks. Great respect for the fish and the outdoors. Honest reviews. Enjoy watching very much. From a “ traditional” trout guy.
Grayling are absolutely gorgeous fish! ... and, oh, can I ever relate to a dropped fly box and flies caught in trees! Another great angling adventure - many thanks!
What great little fish they are! I lived in the AZ mountains several years. There is one lake there that is said to have grayling. I fished it often but failed to catch one. Fantastic that you had good luck!
As an experienced fisherman - but, rookie at Tenkara - I love to see you catch the occasional tree. I am still catching more trees than fish - learning this technique is a process!
If you enjoy what you do that is all that matters. You convinced me to pick up and try a tenkara for the compactness. When I go into the mountains I take a 3 wt fly rod, a small spinning rod and now a tenkara. Thank you for your work. Randy
Michigan is reintroducing the Artic Grayling. It was a very popular native fish that was wiped out in the early 1900s. Cool looking fish. Look forward to someday catching a few.
I fish with tenkara rods..I may not be fishing the tenkara rod right, but like you said, fish your way and I'll fish my way... anyway, awesome video 👍 keep them coming
I've fished upper lakes in Mt when i lived there, reason I moved there! (Polson) Thanks for the Memory Flashbacks! I think personal adaptations is how all forms of angling has come to be. Someone had to to be first....keep em tight!!
Hello Mr. Addict You got me interested in the sport of Tenkara I called up a couple fly shops and asked them if they sold Tenkara rods "Nope, we used to" One of them said "We're reel fishermen here"(Implying real I'm sure) I didn't think of this at the time because I'm usually slow on the uptake but I should have said "I understand what you mean from a business pov, I don't have to purchase a reel, yards of line and backing and rather expensive rods" each style has it's place and both are enjoyable but I don't abide snobs heh heh and there are fly fishing snobs everywhere I do prefer brick and mortar shops as opposed to online Too bad I have to say your vids are excellent
I so agree! Growing up in Huntington Beach, everyone would spear fish with a mechanical gun... I always preferred the more primitive three pronged Hawaiian Sling. It required more “work”, but it was simple, elegant, and required far more stealth to get close to the fish. Probably why I Tenkara here in Idaho instead of Reel. Thanks for inspiring all of us! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Those were very nice grayling! I caught lots of them when I lived in Alaska but most of mine were dinks. I've done some traditional fly fishing and while spinning tackle suits me better I still appreciate what you're doing and find it interesting. I also don't enjoy catch and release fishing myself but have no problem with people who prefer to release their catch. I don't need other people do things my way to feel validated. Different strokes for different folks. Thanks for the video!
That is so stupid, why don't you just pack a spinning rod in? I'm just messing with you, both my wife and I got a kick out of that. We actually just bought her a Tenkara rod, a TFO Soft Hackle. I'm very excited for her to start using it!
People often forget how to fish just for the joy of it no matter the size of the fish or style of fishing. They also don’t understand that fly or tenkara fishing will often out produce spin fishing.
I think you should drop the “it’s not the tenkara” act. It even follows your mantra of stating fish and let fish. Who cares if you aren’t “true tenkara” most people aren’t true fly fisherman (dry fly) or make their own spoons for spin. Keeping this kind of thought gives the sport that pompous feel fly fisherman have faced for years.
I believe there is value in reminding people what tenkara was made for, what it truly excels at, and what it really is. It is possible to both acknowledge that while stepping outside of those bounds, but knowing those bounds is valuable. You are free to disagree.
"Mind your own fricking business." :)

That's really nice of you to say. I appreciate you watching the videos! I'll keep making them as long as people keep watching.
Grew up fishing that lake I appreciate you keeping the name out of it

Nice to see I'm not the only person who drops stuff in the water and catches the trees when you see a fish. Lovely lake and nice grayling
Lol definitely not! Thanks for watching.
Gotta love those tree fish that steal your flies! Love that sound the rod makes when you have a real fish on though.
I do to! I sometimes miss it in the moment, but it's always fun to hear it when I'm editing the videos.
You my friend are practicing the Ten Colors of Tenkara. I love it. Keep up the great videos.
Thanks Edward!

Thanks for the kind words, Ed!
Grayling are absolutely gorgeous fish! ... and, oh, can I ever relate to a dropped fly box and flies caught in trees! Another great angling adventure - many thanks!
Thanks Michael!
So glad to see someone catching fish today...it sure wasn't me. Fish and let fish...words to live by.
Thanks!
I have bought my first tenkara for and am looking forward to using it

Catching trees is just part of the game, unfortunately!
Good work!! That last one’s dorsal was nuts!
Right?? Such beautiful fish.
Amazing calm and profuctive lake.
Mines are productive too but there's an almost constsnt 16 miles/h breeze coming along!
If you enjoy what you do that is all that matters. You convinced me to pick up and try a tenkara for the compactness. When I go into the mountains I take a 3 wt fly rod, a small spinning rod and now a tenkara. Thank you for your work. Randy
Happy to hear it! Thanks for watching, Michaela.

I've heard about that. I hope it works out!
I fish with tenkara rods..I may not be fishing the tenkara rod right, but like you said, fish your way and I'll fish my way... anyway, awesome video 👍 keep them coming
Thanks Stephen!
Those Grayling were amazing! I loved this video.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!
So cool and relaxing to watch you fish. Plus, just incredible locations. Thank you and keep posting please!
Thanks, will do!
Those are big grayling , beautiful lake , looks like you had it all to yourself ! Nice
Yep, didn't see a single other person there. It was great!
Those were some nice sized grayling! Truly magnificent fish.
They really are! Thanks for watching.
Those were big fish! Really nice lake too!
It was a great spot, for sure! Thanks for watching.
I've fished upper lakes in Mt when i lived there, reason I moved there! (Polson) Thanks for the Memory Flashbacks!
I think personal adaptations is how all forms of angling has come to be. Someone had to to be first....keep em tight!!
It's a beautiful place, for sure! Thanks for watching.
I never did hike up to that lake. I always fished the lake below it. That lower lake is full of brook trout and is a nice place to camp.
I didn't have time to fish the lower lake, unfortunately, but I'd like to this summer. The creek below the lower lake looked fishable too!
Stunning location and fishing
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Beautiful fish! Ever thought of coming and fishing New Mexico?
Yep, I'll be there this summer 👍

Nice fish!
Agreed! Thanks for watching.
nice one
Thanks James
Love your channel. Do you use barbless hooks?
Thanks! Yes, only barbless
Fish the way you want it's about how it make you feel

Simplicity is often underrated! Thanks Keaton.
How low in elevation are you that there isn’t any snow? In Idaho all the mountain lakes still have snow right now.
Always check the video description to see when a video was filmed 😁
What was the platform behind you when you were recording your goodbye?
I had to go back and look at it. Not sure!
Who cares one whit about the haters? As you say, fish and let fish! Liked your video!
Thanks!
Do you manipulate the fly at all? Enjoy the video.
Yes. You'll see me occasionally do it in videos.
I use my Tenkara rod for bluegill, sunfish and crappie
That kind of fishing is fun, for sure!
The channel isn't called Spinfishing Addict, lol!?
Lol you'd think it was based on some of the feedback I get!
Grayling used to be found in Michigan until logging and pulp-paper killed the habitat.
Lov
Love it, I have never fished this way ,but yet I went looking for rods yesterday and realized I need two jobs if I'm going to pick this up.
A good cheap tenkara rod (like the Dragontail Shadowfire 365) runs about $100. I wouldn't recommend getting anything cheaper than that.
Those were very nice grayling! I caught lots of them when I lived in Alaska but most of mine were dinks. I hope to get up to Alaska in 2022 and definitely wouldn't mind catching dinks while there. Whatever is willing to bite, I'm willing to catch!

Nice! I think she'll have fun with it 👍
I do me, you do you.
Amen!

Agreed! Thanks John.
I think the ppl annoyed by this fishing dont like change
I think the people annoyed by this are annoyed by a lot of things!
I think you should drop the “it’s not the tenkara” act. It even follows your mantra of stating fish and let fish.

@@TenkaraAddict To be honest, tenkara was made to fish so that to eat the fish. So still waters will fit as well/ Sorry for interfering. :)
