Miss Carly Rae is one of a kind honestly! Her music post call me maybe has been some of the best pop of the 2010s and 2020s. Highly recommend her albums E•MO•TION and The Loneliest Time for a good time
Tori Kelly is one singer who deserves to be talked about more. I was first introduced to her from her work as Meena in "Sing", which prompted me to check out more of her music, and she's wonderful.
I think (because I'm not a vocal coach or even singing myself) that she's also one of the best/strongest vocalists in the industry. It's a shame she's so overlooked, she's got it all.
Thank you so much for including Adam Lambert. Not just anyone can give a performance that bring the likes of Cher to tears or be called "the gift from God" by a legend like Dr. Sir Brian May himself for nothing! He's also criminally underrated as an actor, especially voice roles. He's recently appeared as a coach on The voice Australia among other shows and he's making his official debut on broadway tonight as the Emcee in "Cabaret"!
E•MO•TION is without a doubt one of the greatest albums ever made, it's the quintessential pop. Even those who doesn't like pop music loves this album.
Adam Lambert needs and should always be respected I feel here in the UK we do our best for him but he needs way more credit then what he gets because he is the perfect artist
Adam Lambert is an icon…..look at Linkin Park trying to replace Chester with a new singer who sings with zero emotion. Adam Lambert has toured with Queen for over a decade. He is an amazing singer and Queen fans embraced him. Mad Respect for Adam. Who else could sing The Muffin Man imitating Cher??? He’s one of a kind like Freddie.
@@SuziSPSquirrel I know I 1000% agree I mean in a way it's better for him because he can do what he wants without greedy producers and managers trying to take his money so that always a plus I don't think his pop career faded like the video says he just changed his style to something that was more his style witch his fans prefer yeah some of that is very wild you know what I mean 😜 but he always gives fans what they want and I can honestly say Adam is the only artist that has never let me down or disappointed me and I don't think he ever will
@@charlotte241000 my favorite also has never let me down either. He actually inspires me to be better. He also doesn’t get the credit he deserves either. Keith Urban is my favorite.
This time last year, Charli xcx and Sabrina Carpenter would’ve been on this list. Now they’re finally getting their flowers. Sometimes it just takes time. Some of these artists absolutely deserve the success.
Delta Goodrem is underated she got the voice and can play a musical instrument. Her caree has been going for over 20 years and is still producing good music to this vary day.
that might be the case in the USA, the rest of us (specially in Europe and South America, where she sells out concerts, charts constantly and has a loyal fanbase) been giving her her flowers for decades.
Ava Max is someone who for sure deserved to be on this list! She's the creator of Sweet But Psycho but other than that no one really knows her name and it's upsetting because she's my all time favorite singer and her stuff is amazing!!
@@halfghaniteevee3559 Guarantee whomever is your favorite artist or artists, they have more samples/interpolations than her. So, you don't need to pretend like that's an issue for you.

She's amazing at creating dance pop music, and her album Diamonds & Dancefloors is so good, but tbh she needs to step outside her comfort zone and stop doing samples bc no one is interested if she does it.
Aurora is so underrated in my opinion shes so talented 👏❤ good list , julia Michaels, keane , snow patrol, Mathew Bellamy from muse, Dua lipa too and lots more
Sadly for women like Bebe Rexha, the pop music industry still isn't interested in pushing women who are bigger than a size 4 and who have actual talent that isn't filtered heavily through autotune. Billie Eilish is an anomaly in the pop music industry. Bebe can fucking SING, and is one of the hottest women on the planet and should be so much bigger a star than she is.
Robyn being #1 is dead on. She is literally responsible for Britney Spears. Back in the 90s, when she turned down signing to Jive Records, they went out to find an "American Robyn". Guess who they found?
Brittneys influence is 70% Janet Jackson and 30% Madonna. If Robyn never existed....Brittney Spears' career would remain entirely unchanged. Robyn is perfectly known for the number of actually good songs shes made throughout the years
This is not true. Both Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera were already on Mickey Mouse Club before Robyn released her first single. In the early 90s, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Lauryn Hill, Bjork, and Alanis Morissette dominated American pop. It’s more likely that American record producers were disinterested in her because she was a Swedish act, and beyond Ace of Base, there wasn’t much interest in looking overseas. Robyn signed with Jive records in July 2001 and complained about a lack of creative freedom. There was no void in American pop she needed to fill.
Yes, and Robyn's first radio hits were also some of the earliest radio hits by THE Max Martin. Record producers wanted more of that sound, which shaped the pop landscape from the 90's well into the mid-2010's.
@@JadeMartin-hd4pw Just because you personally are unaware of female electro pop influences prior to 2010 doesnt mean they didn't exist. Pick literally any year before that. 2007 for example? Britney Spears blackout and Kylies "X" BOTH offer more influence to the following decade of electro pop than Robyn who's music you mention in regard to the 2010's. Love me some Body Talk, but she certainly wasn't innovating pop music on a grand scale in any substantive way like you think she was.
I just wanted to say thank you. I just started the video and have already downloaded music that I never heard before. Always a good day when I get new music.
Bebe Rexha is criminally underrated and has been done dirty by the industry ever since "Hey Mama" if not earlier. That girl deserves more recognition for sure
Right? David Guetta screwed her royally, and I wouldn't be surprised if he worked behind the scenes to make her career not take off. He only backed off when the truth about his treatment of her got known, and he tried to save his public image.
Going to see Tori Kelly in Seattle, and I’m super stoked. Been listening to her music on repeat to brush up on the lyrics. Can’t wait to see her live!!
Call Me Maybe was _not_ Carly Rae Jepsen‘s debut single; in fact, Kiss wasn’t even her debut album; it was her second album and her first album had four singles released.
I actually really like Carly Rae Jepsen's music and that's saying something because i've mostly distanced myself from modern English music nowadays (i love the Weeknd too but he most definitely is credited for his work)
Róisín Murphy is about is criminally underrated as it gets. Her solo work is unbelievable. So was her work with Moloko. I'm actually disappointed she wasn't included.
I’m glad you mentioned Kimbra, since she should be known outside of a duet with Gotye. Outside of recent music, Cyndi Lauper, PJ Harvey, Liz Phair, Aurora, and even Bjork for that matter. It’s amazing how many modern singers sound like Bjork and don’t list her as an influence.
What about Esther Dean? She's worked with some of the biggest names (usually as a writer) like Rhianna, but outside of featuring in the Pitch Perfect movies, it seems she's been swept under the rug?
I agree Zara Larson, Robyn, Bebe Rexha, Tori Kelly and Adam Lambert are crazy underrated and deserve to be more recognised. same goes with Missy Higgins and Delta Goodrum and Kylie Minogue also I would say The Veronicas as well 😊❤️❤️
Jessie J isn't getting enough credit for being the incredible artist she is.. She's real, incredibly talented with crazy vocals and really good songs but still, so many people don't appreciate her
Fun vid, I agree on most of them, I would like to see Lexi Jayde, Griff, Diana Pombo, Jesse Murph (she is starting to get some recognition), Madilyn Bailey, Allie Sherlock, Nina Nesbitt, Charlotte Summers, First to Eleven, Mimi Webb, and Abi Carter.
She has a lot of bangers but outside Habits and Talking Body, all of her songs haven't made it to the billboards. Also she should have given a big credit for co-writing Love Me Like You Do. Her short films Fairy Dust and Fire Fade were really good too
Always did like Robyn 😊 Carly Rae Jepsen I didn't really like at first (especially because I couldn't turn on the radio without hearing "Call Me Maybe" in 2012) but after I heard her song "Tonight I'm Getting Over You" my perception about has changed ever since.
Possible list?? Artists who drastically changed their look from when they first found fame. (We still love their music but ....) 1. Sam smith 2. A. Lambert 3.
I'm so glad that my faves are in the list: Carly Rae Jepsen, Robyn, Allie X, FKA twigs, Marina. And a huge shout out for bringing amazing artists such as Janelle Monae and Victoria Monet ❤
It’s so funny because to me most of those artists are so hyped. Maybe it’s depending on the communities? But a few of those named artists are one of my favorites!! Janelle and Allie to die for. But there ist so much talent in that video. Love so many of then
Tori Kelly and Victoria Monét definitely underrated. Tori is highly skilled vocalist, not just any singer. in the industry, as we welcome more and more new artists, in my opinion, I believe it’s all just autotune… no one can actually be put on the spot and actually showcase, raw vocal talent, soul, and non-basic vocal technique. And Victoria is an incredible songwriter (has written many hits for bigger artists, not just Ariana Grande) producer, dancer/performer. Not my favorite singer, but still I like her voice and music.
Man, Ava Max didn't even make this list? She really needs more recognition...her music is so catchy and, as a fan of early 2010s music, so nostalgic for me
I firmly believe that if Ava Max debuted in 2008 she’d be a huge popstar by now. She makes perfect electro dance pop…she just had her breakthrough when that style of music wasn’t popular anymore.
1. Tones And I - she can't shake off Dance Monkey any more than Carly Rae Jepsen can Call Me Maybe. 2. Christine and the Queens - an underrated French singer songwriter, producer, and performer who travels every bit in her own lane.

One small note about the great CRJ: Kiss wasn't her debut album, and Call Me Maybe wasn't her debut single, at least not overall (maybe in the US or UK). Her first album is Tug of War, and it has a slightly different feel to Kiss in parts, but she did release singles from ToW in her native Canada. It's similar to Alanis, her fellow Canadian, in that her breakout album wasn't her first. And yes, CRJ gives good concert.
I think Qveen Herby should have been added to this list. Previously known as “Karmin,” with songs like Acapella and Brokenhearted making it big. Their solo work is criminally underrated!!
Troye Sivan because he gets on list that are for Grammy nominees and now the VMAs, but he lost to the a lister basically the elite singers and his duets with A-list singers that include Ariana Grande Kacey Musgraves, just the name of who went on when Grammys and their own rights
Great idea of a video, there are soooo many overlooked female pop singers and I don't understand why. Maybe it will sound weird but I think that Kylie Minogue is one of the most overlooked artists ever. Of course she's an icon and a very successful artist from Australia, but she deserved to blow up in US in 2000's like Gwen Stefani, Nelly Furtado (also an underrated icon) and Fergie. Also her works from 90's were very creative but overlooked by critics bc of misogyny. About Zara Larsson and Bebe Rexha: I love and support them, but I think they don't realise their full potential, so it's kinda the problem with their popularity, Zara is afraid of making cohesive work, Bebe is afraid to be authentic, I hope I won't get hate for these words

I'm Swedish just like the winner, but even in sweden she needs more creed😊
It hurts that @MsMojo forgot Tove Lo, Caroline Polachek, Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora, Jessie Ware, Lauv, Aurora (i understand she's not pop)
