I've been to Ghana twice and I plan to go again in 2020. I love visiting my friends in Ghana (Ghanaian and repats), but being nearly 74years old I don't plan to relocate. For those who want to become repats do your homework because it not for everyone. My friends who moved to Ghana and other countries on the motherland visited a couple of times and sometimes visited more than one country. Africa is a continent and not a country. I have friends in South Africa, Ghana, and Senegal with each having it own charm. If you live with repats they can help you in the transition so you don't make the same mistakes they did. Also if you're,Staying in and air conditioned hotel and doing tours on air conditioned buses you wont learn as much as you will learn if you use public transportation (tro tros), cabs, etc. Don't go there with attitude that Africa owes you sometimes and dont think about what Africa can do for you. Think about what you can do for Africa.

Much love to Ghana from Zimbabwe. Mugabe's first wife was from Ghana and we loved her dearly. If I should ever visit West Africa it will be Ghana, Senegal and CIV. Salute

@Samuel Comah Much respect my brother. Ghana is the home of African nationalism and is why Robert Mugabe went and lived there at Takoradi. From there is where Mugabe returned to Rhodesia fired up to make sure blacks would be independent and usher in Zimbabwe

I really like your cousin. Her mindset is very similar to mine and my sisters. We hate people comparing USA/U.K. to Ghana. Also the fact that she relocated but has been there for a long period. It’s people like your cousin and mine that I love hearing from as they are on the ground. No hype, just getting on with it. I don’t like that Ghana is coming Westernised.

Loved this interview! I am a Ghanaian American born and raised in the US, but I moved to Ghana last year for 6 months to work, and it was definitely an experience! I had never been in Ghana longer than 3 weeks until I moved and I agree with everything your cousin said. I definitely was comparing Ghana to the US but then I realized that it will never be the same. But I had come to love living in Ghana for so many reasons and I am actually looking forward to moving back in the future.

@Vanessa, you should consider follow up conversationS with your cousin. Her journey is an aspiration for a lot of Ghanaians abroad. There a lot of middle class Ghanaians living abroad that are on the fence - whether to relocate or continue on with the grind and for how long?! Your cousin's responses are precise and unfortunately too concise :). Please consider this an urgent request to bring her back on your channel.
PS - I'll be happy to send over questions if that'll save you time. Much appreciated.

It would have been nice to have very specific examples of what the pros/cons are of moving to Ghana. Moving to any country outside of your own is always going to be a challenge. The most important thing is to do your research, have a plan and enough money saved to live comfortably for at least a year without a job.
