When efren put the chalk on the side pocket, i thought it was a joke..but i'm really amaze that the purpose of putting the chalk is to prevent the cue ball from scratching..he really knows what will happen..a true legend..
while we are at it now I think he purposely missed the 8 and set up'd the balls that it would scratch for his chalk trick.

@@mikeb.2423 That match was a friendly exhibition match, and he and his partner did not intend to defeat the ladies; they went into the match just to give the ladies an experience playing with great players. Efren is the ultimate likeable person as much as he is the GOAT billiards player.
From the time this was posted, i have watched this countless times... it never gets old. New perspective i realized is that he didnt even need to be on the side of the cue ball to realize what exactly is going to happen... he said aim to my cue stick... your gonna have trick shot magic. Wow... just wow.
I have watched the Magician’s videos for years. This short video says a lot about his unmatched skills and proves he’s the best
1. Hit the 6 and move the cue ball for the 7 for his partner.
2. Purposely missed the 8 and position it and the cue ball to get a straight shot to the pocket.
3. Knew exactly the cue ball was going down the side pocket.

What a great display of sportsmanship from the "Magician", he is a rare and humble person.
I am always AMAZED at how well he knows every angle on the table.
if you examine the video closely you will see that he started moving toward the pocket where he placed the chalk to prevent a scratch before she even started aiming (7 seconds before she got down on the shot).
On the 9 ball, he showed her the exact aim point for a two rail bank while standing on the other side of the table. I was left speechless.

1. He intentionally missed the 8 ball and stratigically positioned the queue ball and 8 ball in the table. It's a position shot and knows it will scratch.
2. Placed the chalk to entertain coz again, he knew it will scratch after positioning the ball and intentionally missed the 8.
3. Guided his opponent for a 3 rail shot to entertain the crowd.
No doubt, no questions, no arguments, Efren is the GOAT and the Legend of Billiards.

Folks... The Michael Jordan of Pool... i tell you this guy is one of a kind. Everytime i watch his best shots and superb kicks online i am amazed... but just how he engages people and give them a sprinkle of his brilliance in the moment? Im floored.
If there is a Humanitarian Hall of Fame... he should be inducted. I am just sad that hes 68 now... but times like these where i get to watch his humor, humanity and brilliance in full display... it makes these moments priceless for us, what more from the people he interacted? Let's give Lauren some credit on that last shot. Efren showing her where to hit the 9ball was only half of the equation. The rest was up to Lauren - she had to hit that target precisely in order for the magic to happen. And she did not disappoint. Kudos to her.

Watching Efren play on a TH-cam video brought me back to the game after not playing at all for over 40 years. Little did I know at the time this 61 year old me would come to love pool all over again. Wish I could shake his hand & say thank you mr. GOAT ❤. But to get to play with him I’d be over the moon!!

Efren stopped in and played at my father's pool hall in Michigan back in the late 80's. He played a guy for about 10 hrs and I made some great cash on the side..will never forget it..
what's sad during those prime years of his was he wasn't earning money on his wins, most of it if not all goes to his manager.
U made money by betting on efren's side? Did he won most of the games there?
@@jasonbatester5784 I remember he came in with 2 other guys and one or maybe both were backing him. I think (I was 18-19yrs old at the time) they started playing 8 ball which was different because 9-ball was what most guys who gambled played at the time. Later in the evening 2 more guys came in and negotiated with Efren and his backers 9-ball race to 5 for $50..nobody really knew who Efren was but Cowboy Dennis knew that he was a strong player and the word was that he was cleaning up at some other pool halls in the area. The sets went to I think up to $400.. Efren toyed with him and when it was over I think I remember making close to $300 which for me at that time was pretty good dough. Yes, my bets were mostly on Efren. I switched up every once in a while and took the other guy but in the end Efren and his backers walked out with a good chunk of cash. I don't know how much they ended up with.
@@erichammond2466 what a great Legendary Story. More like a Myth.. my idol Efren "Bata" Reyes! Long live the Goat! Sadly, he wasn't given the attention he deserve or praises in our country. Reason he still keeps on playing Billiard derby for earning and maybe for the love of the game too. He keeps inspiring and battling with the upcoming master of Billiards. Hopefully, I can meet him someday. Soo humble but great! Sad to say that Efren is Loved and Celebrated more outside the Philippines than in our Country.
@@jasonbatester5784 I had a very interesting childhood growing up in a poolhall. Mr. Billiards in Michigan. I was never a strong player..but loved the action when I did. Efren in my opinion is the greatest in my lifetime.

Efren is such a badass. He know he can run everyone into the ground, yet he refrains. The way he can just causally kick or bank a shot into any pocket on command is legendary. Sadly now, we are approaching the very end/end of his mastery. We all get old, I know it, you know it and hopefully whatever you are doing you push it until it can't be done. :)
This is not just feel for kicking that efren has, he has a godlike understanding of angles and geometry, that last shot was insane, his perspective was flipped from the cueball and he's so quick and confident to point out the shot.
The placing of the chalk part I was like "ohhhh..., ok". But the pointing of the cue stick and Lauren executing it accordingly, without closing my TV I run down the stairs, went past the living room, out into my garage, gaze blankly at the streets and then just stare at the sky.

Efren is such a shy person, doesn’t talk much even in his own hometown.
His command of English is nowhere near desirable, sometimes unintelligible to many native English speakers, but brave enough to join this group for a game. He must have been invited for this gathering while on a tour. This clip could be relatively recent coz he’s much older here.
OMG! This clip always appeared in my feed and I can't stop watching for the nth times. It was funny, I was in Starbucks watching this clip and people around looking at me... and I realized I was laughing by myself. Same thoughts of lots of comments here. After a month, the owner of this clip may have not imagined this will go viral. I think the views will peg a million in a short period of time. This only affirms Bata's greatness in all aspects - his skill sets and his human nature. I may have seen great pool players but not as humble as Efren. Only my thoughts.
