My win with Isaac (on Harder, because Hardest broke me ;_;) was with Dizzy *and Peri*. That's because Peri has an assortment of instant movement cards, but more importantly - with Dizzy I focused on gaining big amounts of shield.
30:14 Yeah I think this is what set you back. I kinda see everything here as 'resources' and in this game, you kinda want to try and spend as little of these 'resources' as possible to achieve the goal, so IMO momentum and maybe scramble would've been a better play in that situation. It would've allowed you to tank the 2, and still have 3 movement resources at the ready next turn to "pay" for whatever's coming - not to mention momentum having a higher value next time it comes around (giving you 2 shield resources instead of 1) Spending 3 movement instead of spending 2 shield to avoid 2 damage was kind of a bad trade there - you really "paid" a lot to dodge 2 damage, especially considering how even a single movement resource can sometimes negate 4+ damage on its own. It was kinda like sacrificing two good chess pieces for a pawn. But on a side note, that hull repair play was chillingly spot-on, and there was absolutely nothing shameful about it.. sometimes you gotta play the cards you're dealt with xD
I'm glad to see this on YT. I've been enjoying this game a bit. I've won a few games on Hardest but they are a lot of loses between those wins. I'm a novice at deck builders but this game is great and the music bops. Edit: I am glad you mentioned an undo button because I was thinking the same thing! Maybe you get it before you do damage or something just so you can how the movement works? Wouldn't be great for some cards though.
Hey man, if you like roguelike deckbuilders there's this niche game called monster train, idk if you've heard of it. It's kinda like pokemon except you don't fight kids, you beat up their parents 😊
I’ve been behind since I finished watching all your monster train and haven’t watched any wild frost. I will watch the doodle out of as many episodes of this as you make. I swear I will like the video and comment on the video and even a subscribe to the video
When it comes to player characters besides the base 3 characters: Don't discount them yet. It was my first opinion too to be like "why would I ever play another pair", but after learning the other 3 characters I've learnt their uses. Isaac gets a whole lot faster when you stop using him for both defense and damage. Either use him for one or the other or use him to supplement both while having other characters for the main carry there. (Also there's an artifact that makes all his drones pierce) Drake is a powerhouse that gets me through the early game so that another character can carry me to victory Max is a full-on support who diesn't have much power on his own but his cards fuck with mechanics enough to break the game. Also, Max-Riggs has an easy infinite combo with the rigged edges artifact.
No hints, but... uh... first time you fight the shopkeeper, make sure it's a throwaway run. If your build doesn't specifically counter him, you 100% won't kill him.
Yea! Cobalt Core! I love Wildfrost, but dman dude after seeing your first look on this It's scratched my FTL itch so well. Can't wait to see your series with it!
